"Thankyou for a really nice last minute getaway the peak district is a lovely place....this was the first time we have ever taken our dog with us and it was amazing the cottage has everything you could want.a very luxury feel even down to the drinking glasses!my only issue would have been the bed in the main bedroom. would have preferred it to be kingsize/superking size but I am 6ft5 and is always an issue when going places to stay over not the cottages fault....more mine but I think If you ever upgrade do it to a king size or superking it would warrant a few more ££££s per stay but totally worth it for me personally.the garden is also lovely to sit in and relax.the parking could of been an issue....I was going to bring 2 cars because we were bringing the dog and the kids bikes etc and had seen on the reviews about there being enough parking for 2 cars in front of the cottage..we parked directly infront of our cottage and on the night had a neighbour knocking on the door telling us that was her spot and we would have to move forward next time we went out.she told us our parking is just on the concrete next to the posts wich made it more difficult to get out and in after we were blocked in by the neighbour I'm just glad we didn't bring the 2 cars as one review says you can park in a lay by down the road but while we were there that lay by was taken up by 3 cars someone local was selling.so could of been a big issue as no parking anywhere for possibly a mile each way of the cottage."

"Nice clean cosy cottage in a good location, very easy to reach National Trust, Mills and the Tram Museum as well as Matlock Bath and Matlock, nice walk uphill to the heights above Middleton with beautiful views with an information centre and cafe. Owners who lived next door were very friendly and helpful as were the other neighbours. Had a bit of a ride though to get provisions. Although back garden was as described it was difficult to access and we did not bother after the first day. The dog had to be taken a walk in local area but open area and small park very close to front of property. Big plus point was the Pub next door, parking is difficult for the cottage but okay for a small car. We were fortunate that the property adjacent was not in use and we were able to use their bay."

"Our stay at the Hayloft was luxurious and comfortable, it made for a home from home experience. The hosts Ian & Bev were top notch! The attention to detail was purely excellent, in fact the best we have ever received in the many years we have been visiting Derbyshire. Nothing was too much trouble and they willingly were flexible when the occasion demanded it. Regarding the property Its a place designed for families with older children, not toddlers! If you are in that bracket then you are in for a treat. I found the beds comfortable, plenty to entertain you, a stunning patio outside and many excellent features to numerous to mention right now. It was a definitely a memorable stay and it is definitely a place we would like to visit again. Many thanks Ian & Bev."

"Great cottage, very private and self contained. Part of wing on the main house but has separate entrance and its own walled garden plus access to a couple of small fields on the property - great for the dog. Clean, comfortable and well equipped with excellent wi-fi. Perfect for 2 adults and also has bunk beds. Entrance/kitchen area is downstairs then upstairs to a small lounge, large bedroom and toilet/shower room. Located in a quiet, secluded area 10 minutes drive from Ashbourne and Carsington Water with plenty of pubs in same distance, all serving good food and dog friendly in the bar areas.Owner was friendly and helpful. Would happily stay here again."

"This was probably the best cottage we've stayed in, it was well furnished and clean and the owners were very attentive in ensuring we had everything we needed. It's in a lovely rural location, the downside being that you need to be organised in ensuring you have all the groceries you need as it's a few miles to the nearest shop, however, everything is provided for the first day's breakfast - bread, butter, eggs from the owners' chickens, milk, tea, coffee and wine to unwind after the journey. If we ever visit that part of the country again we would definitely consider returning to The Hayloft."
