"This lodge isn't really large enough for six people. The bunk room is barely large enough to get the bunk in. The living area was only just adequate for six people to be in. The provision of crockery, cutlery and glasses wasn't sufficient for six people - most people have more than one drink and one meal in a day, so exactly six large plates and six glasses isn't enough. Cooking equipment seemed a bit random and missing items such as baking trays too.The lodge is very close to other lodges and the fencing between the lodges is quite "industrial" in nature. We were fortunate in that most of the other lodges weren't occupied for most of the week but it was inevitably quite noisy when they were, and also meant we were conscious of not disturbing other guests. The pool was good, but it seemed a bit early to close it at 7pm (why so early?) and the rules for its use are quite restrictive. The games room was too hot to enjoy although was well equipped. Most disappointing was the wifi/internet provision. Whilst we accept that rural internet speeds can be low, the internet access was so slow as to be unusable. This would be bad enough, but to be charged an additional £20 for the privilege seems like rubbing salt into the wound. Not unreasonably, we expected that the £20 charge was to enable a decent connection to be provided. I'd recommend future guests not to use the provided wifi but to bring their own 4G wireless access point instead."

"I have been to this resort before, and as it was so good I wanted to come back again! However I felt as a couple we were given below standard accommodation and I wouldn't necessarily stay here again. We were on a chalet pushed up a corner, which by lunchtime had no sunlight on the balcony (not idea for the hottest week of the year!) and our TV only seemed to show BBC channels (again not idea when England are playing in the World cup on ITV!). We noticed other people were given much better accommodation, when they were only staying for a long weekend and paying a lot less than we did for a week. Also, prior to our stay we were emailed asking for our details so we would have a quicker check in. I responded to the email asking a question to which I was ignored, and our check in was no quicker than normal?! This initial email seemed so pointless??We were both very disappointed and when paying as much money as we did, when visiting South Devon again would chose to stay elsewhere."

"We've stayed at Little Dunley before and loved it! I would recommend you phone a few days before you are due to arrive, rather than leaving it until the day before, as we did - despite trying numerous times we couldn't get hold of anyone and the only way of getting into the cottage was to guess the code to the key safe! Unfortunately, we had a problem with flies when we arrived but after a phone call to the owner (whose mobile number was in the info pack inside the cottage!), it was sorted very quickly by the caretaker. As before, the children LOVED the very well kept swimming pool and games room (and the nearby House of Marbles!), and really enjoyed using the tennis court. We hope to be back, but would probably choose to stay in Oaktree Cottage instead, if possible."

"Bottor Rock Lodge is a very spacious and comfortable holiday home, there were 9 of us plus a dog and there was plenty of space for all of us to spread out. The kitchen had all the equipment you require and the games room kept both the children and adults entertained. When we encountered a problem, the owners were very helpful and responded quickly to resolve itThe only criticism we have is the wet room could benefit from rails or shower seat. My mother aged 91with reduced mobility, although enjoyed her stay, felt nervous using the shower.Location was central to local attractions with nearest dog friendly beach 30 minute easy drive to Teignmouth. We would certainly consider booking Bottor Rock Lodge again"

"An almost perfect stay at Acorn Cottage. The location was great as we were attending a wedding in Chudleigh; only 10 mins away. As well as being nearby to pubs and local amenities. The cottage itself was lovely and big, and provided near enough everything we needed. We did however need an iron and later found out it was located in the games room; this wasn’t noted anywhere. Also, the wifi was not working for any of us, this may be because the router is not in the property? But aside from this, we had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay (I slept like a baby, nice beds), we would recommend it and definitely return. Also the owner (who we did not actually see), was indeed very helpful over the phone!"
