"I have stayed at Old Pennistone several times now and will certainly be returning. The cottage is beautifully set, on it own with no close neighbours .There is is an abundance of wildlife around the cottage and there are footpaths leading directly from the door.Towns and villages in the local area and beyond, are easily accessible. The A66 gives access to all points, North, South, east and west, including the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and North Pennines. There is a well stocked Minimarket in nearby Brough and also an historic castle,as well as an ice cream parlour.Larger shops and facilities are only a 20 minute drive away at Kirkby Stephen, where you can also join the picturesque Settle to Carlisle railway line. The cottage is always absolutely spotless and well equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. The owners are always very helpful and welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.Old Pennistone is the perfect place to relax and unwind, with the 'icing on the cake' being the private hot tub with superb views across the valley and hills beyond.Just fantastic, I'll be back!"

"This is the second time we have stayed at Dell Cottage and we have really enjoyed both our stays. The cottage itself is lovely and very well presented. The new bathroom and toilet has made a big difference. All the neccesessities such as tea, coffee, biscuits etc had been left for us and after a mishap with the key the owners were very helpful and popped straight over to help us which was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately since our last stay the local village shop has closed so the only thing i would mention is that it is about 3 miles to the nearest shop in hawkshead but if you plan in advance it certainly isnt a deal breaker. The cottage is in a great location in a quiet part of the lake district with lots of great walks nearby. We ate at both the local pubs the cuckoo brow and the tower bank arms which were both excellent. We will most certainly be visiting again."

"We’ve not stayed in Far Sawrey before and enjoyed the walks offered by Dell Cottage. It’s great to have a designated parking space and a pub literally across the road. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything that our family (two adults, one child and one dog) needed during our week long stay. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for us all to relax. It was also great being able to take the dog.I liked the option of daily fresh milk deliveries and would’ve used this had we not taken a six pint bottle with us!The cottage owner was ever so helpful prior to our visit and incredibly hospitable and flexible about any requests made. Thank you for making our 2018 visit to the Lakes the best one yet!"

"We stayed for 3 nights (3 adults and two dogs) and the cottage suited us perfectly. Ammenities were good and the double parking space much appreciated. The beds in particular were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was sparkling clean with a good quality walk in shower. Having slate floors at both entrances would be a boon in wet weather for those with dogs or small children, although we were blessed with excellent weather. Both local pubs serve delicious, interesting food (definitely need to book ahead) and are in easy walking distance. The only minor complaints would be the lack of teapot (we're old school!) and the placing of the tv in front of the view across the fields. Would definitely stay there again."

"Fabulous old cottage steeped in history with period furnishing, tons of character and with lots of room to relax. A great location to explore the lakes and West Cumbria.Only a couple of minor issues; Mobile signal is non existent within the thick cottage walls, although we were able to make calls from the upstairs front window seat, however the BT WiFi was great for messenger calls. The log fire in the lounge, although lovely & warming emits some smoke into the lounge, even with doors/windows open to create draft. The grate does not sit fully into the redesigned fireplace which is most likely the cause. These did not spoil our enjoyment and the family had a wonderful time in this lovely cottage."
