"Unlike some properties at Lower Mill with limited views, The Augusta House overlooks the wonderful Somerford Lagoon and it's so lovely and relaxing to be able to watch and listen to the different birds that come and go. In the evening, we could almost reach out and touch the bats that came out to catch their supper. The whole estate is a joy for those of all ages, who love and appreciate nature. We don't have young children but for those who do, they would be well catered for. There's a lovely atmosphere across the whole site and everyone we met was friendly. A strict code of conduct ensures that nature, wildlife, and peacefulness take priority. The Spa is an absolute oasis; beautifully clean and with the outside pool being even warmer than the inside one. Our week long stay was at the beginning of October and one warm, sunny weekday we had the outdoor pool to ourselves for almost 2 hours-bliss!The house itself is spacious, clean, very well equipped for the number of people it can accommodate and would be warm and cosy during cold weather (we had to turn the heating off). The beds were very comfortable and the linen and towels clean. The only disappointment was the 'General Store'. This amounts to no more than a few shelves of random items within the Ballihoo Restaurant. They didn't even stock ordinary tea and were charging 60p each for tomatoes which, needless to say we declined. So, if you don't want to spend your holiday food shopping, make sure you either bring everything with you or arrange to have it delivered. We shopped at The Organic Farm Shop in nearby Burford (the organicfarmshop.co.uk) and would very highly recommend it. They stock pretty much everything you could need and the food in the cafe is delicious. Well worth a visit in itself for anyone who appreciates good quality food, with much of the fruit and vegetables being grown on site."

"The house was spacious, and the location was perfect. There was a large decked area with table and plenty of chairs at the back of the house, overlooking the lake. Two of the first floor bedrooms had balconies overlooking the lake. We were surprised that the top floor bedroom didn't have a window to take advantage of the view, but a skylight, that didn't spoil the holiday though. My son in law took his kayak and made full use of it on the lake. The grandchildren loved the swimming pools, indoor and out, as we all did, and the weather was brilliant. We also enjoyed meeting the swans with their cygnets, and watching and identifying the many different birds. There were some good dog friendly pubs close by, The Bakers Arms, The Greyhound and we particularly enjoyed eating at the Wheatsheaf. It was a wonderful relaxed holiday and we all wanted to stay on for another week."

"I stayed here for 3 nights whilst working in the area. It was a little difficult to find in the dark so another signpost for the house facing the road would be helpful. Lovely warm welcome on arrival and the place was spotless. I note guests are asked to clean the job, fridge sink etc on departure which I was happy to do. I had an issue with the heating on the second evening and the owner came straight over to assist which was great. The bedroom is cozy, the limited headroom and it’s in the eaves might be a challenge for those over 5ft 8 say but was fine for me! The only wc is downstairs so be prepared for this once you are upstairs for the night! All in all great accommodation which I would recommend, lovely owners"

"We had a great family holiday at the Augusta House. The location is fab, lovely walks on the doorstep, walking trails (we did a lovely treasure trail with our grandchildren), great swimming pools on site, very nice cafe/restaurant on site which has a lovely sunny outside sitting area near to the children's play area, and which has a take-away menu. Tennis courts available (just sign up at the court gate to book) and bikes/bike equipment available for hire. Everyone very friendly. The accommodation: warm; cosy sitting room; well equipped kitchen; very comfortable beds; plenty of space for an extended family; great views from two of the bedrooms and the sitting room. What more could you want!"

"Our stay at Watercolour Haze was just wonderful. It is a truly stunning house with a fantastic position on the lake with views from all three floors. The hot tub on the decking adds fun factor and the kitchen is the best equipped I've seen in a rental home so far. My only suggestion would be to have another frying pan or two. There was only one small one for a house of 8 people. Otherwise very impressed by the quality of the finish of the bathroom and kitchen and what's on offer in terms of TV, Netflix, Sonos, wireless bluetooth speaker, gas BBQ, etc.. The house is well located and only about a 7-8 minute walk to the pool/spa. I will be telling all my friends to book this house."
