"Lovely area to stay in, perfect for visiting so many interesting & beautiful places. Cottage is quaint & as expected, with a homely feel. Although the small garden is enclosed, it would suit smaller dogs as the fences are only waist height & there's a pile of rubble, mud & wood alongside of one part, meaning it was a constant worry for us that our dog might decide to go off investigating in the road only 10 yards away. Be aware if you need to keep in contact with the outside world that the only mobile network that gets ANY signal in a 5-10 mile radius is Orange & as there is no landline/internet in the house, be prepared to cross the road over to the old cobwebbed phone box with a bucket load of change (60p to connect a call these days)! The house is comfortable for 6 to sleep & lounge with a lovely burner in the sitting room & a TV/DVD player with a selection of DVD's for all tastes. Sadly the kitchen layout makes it impossible to open the oven door if the dining table is in use. We seated 4 at the table & were confused how the other 2 chairs (kept in hallway) would fit at the table. The table in the garden only has 4 chairs also, so not sure how 6 people would eat together? Equally baffled as to why in an area of outside pursuits & beautiful scenery there would be no washing machine in the house, surely 6 people would need to do some laundry if staying for a week, especially in wet weather with mud on their gear from all the dog walking etc. It transpired that a dishwasher had been installed where you might expect the washing machine to be!!If planning on home delivery shopping (we stayed for a week & the nearest 'supermarket' wasn't the best in all honesty, so glad we ordered in for arrival) give them a copy of the directions to the house from your confirmation email as Sat Nav takes you away from the cottage & up a muddy steep track. We would stay in this cottage again as the location was perfect for all we wanted to do, but we would take more clothes & plenty of loose change. "

"This isn't just a rental cottage, it's a fully catered for 5* holiday! The owners offer freshly cooked restaurant quality food delivered to your door. There are loads of menu choices and it is all prepared by a qualified and experienced chef. It is so reasonable too!Not only is the cottage beautiful and spacious but it has been fitted out to a high standard, making the beds very comfortable and meaning you have everything you could possibly need for your holiday! (a selection of flip flops to use around the hot tub and utensils such as a garlic press and ice cream scoops in the kitchen for example!).There are plenty of games, books and DVDS. The hot tub was spotlessly clean and fits 6 people and there are lovely walks nearby. If you want something else to do then I highly recommend archery and shooting which the owners can facilitate for you. It's very affordable for a group to take part and such good fun, we went back for a second session!Nigel and Maz are the perfect hosts. They have something really special on offer here so stop your search and get it booked! My group of girlfriends will all be returning separately with our families."

"The cottage is well located for access to the many attractions in the area. We liked it for its isolation and general amenities. Tips for other visitors: it is a small old cottage, isolated and with a septic tank. It’s comfortable and lovely, but not a 5-star hotel. If that’s what you want, go to a 5-star hotel! Read the details on the website, read the instructions that the owner provides (especially about refuse/recycling arrangements) and there should be no surprises or disappointments. This cottage is actually provided with more than we’d expected in the way of catering, but it is still essential to take anything you feel you need and not expect it to be provided. There’s a brilliant farmshop just north of Craven Arms, and others in the area. Craven Arms has a good general store that sells just about everything, and good takeaways. There’s a wealth of good pubs and eateries within a short distance in all directions. If being in middle of farmland, away from it all is your thing, you will enjoy a relaxing and peaceful stay in this charming cottage. June 2011."

"I worry that in winter it would be very damp. The stairs are very steep from the bedrooms to the loo and a word about this may be useful on the website for any who are not overly agile or who do not like heights. The kitchen was extremely well equipped but as others noted in the comments book, I do not think it would be suitable to sit more than four and at a squeeze at a table located inside the old chimney place.I also worried a little about security as the door is single paned half-glassed and both chubb and top lock would be easily accessed if the window was broken. The cottage would benefit from an update in furnishings especially the bath (plumbing), which filled very, very slowly.Ample hot water and generally very comfortable and quiet. Wearing slippers there was a very slippery bit as you entered the kitchen from the hall but a relocation of the nonslip bathmat solved this safety issue"

"Shropshire is somewhere I have wanted to go for a long time. Went with my husband and our son and daughter in law and the two grandsons aged 11 and 14 yrs. Loved The Turnip House, liked the spaciousness, it was nice to meet the owner who answered any questions. We went out and about and it was nice to return to The Turnip House after a long day. It was not far from the local pub which did lovely meals. Only problem, wish we had gone for 2 weeks instead of one, but it was half term in May, and that governed the amount of time we could spend. Lovely and relaxing with so much provided, so much more than usually provided when we have stayed in cottages before."
