"Mike and Bella greeted us at the property and showed us around, they are lovely people and run the shop next door. The cottage has a log fire and central heating, we needed both as the weather took a turn for the worst and the living room took a while to heat up. The property is very spacious so there was plenty of room for four of us. The kitchen was well equipped and leads out onto a very large patio and garden area which would be nice in the summer in the nice weather. Upstairs both bedrooms have sloping ceilings and were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice but the water was tepid and we should have asked about it but we were lazy and just put up with it. We regularly popped next door to buy supplies and we did pop to the Hook and Glove restaurant which Bella recommended (no.1 out of 210 restaurants around Salisbury) which was had lovely food but perhaps be classed as homely looking (to us Town folk). We enjoyed our holiday and the cottage was worth the money we paid. I would say the only drawback is that it is very rural and if you wanted more than just a shop next door ie. a town then this is not for you."

"Lovely cottage in an excellent position for exploring the south coast. Within easy driving distance of all of: Bournemouth, Poole, Portsmouth, Southampton and even Brighton. The lodge itself was well presented and in a secluded location. We can overlook the awful road that leads to and from the cottage as this proved to only slightly impact our stay. The sofa wasn't very comfortable and the WiFi access was poor. The kitchen was well equipped for what we needed, and we made use of some of the games (a great addition). There was an excellent view every morning of the horses, and other wildlife, something that we really appreciated. I feel like the location played a massive part in the enjoyment of our stay."

"A lovely cottage with wonderful views. We had several small niggles which would not apply to everyone. Our old dog had trouble with the laminate flooring. My husband could not find a comfortable chair, as all the stools were hard and the couch was too low. It would be nice to have a chair in the bedroom. Well appointed kitchen, but no clingfilm, kitchen roll, washing powder for the washing machine, only decaffeinated coffee, all the kitchen knives were very blunt....small things I know. We have stayed in other cottages where the welcome pack was more generous. We wished that we'd had a 4x4 to navigate the track, which was very bumpy."

"The cottage was very nice but the location was not for us. The unmade track up to the cottage was difficult to negotiate. The cottage is in a lovely location for fit people who can go for walks in the forest but we are both quite elderly and are recovering from illness so we had to drive everywhere. The sofa was very low and not very well sprung so as this was the only comfortable seat again not very suitable for us. the shower door over the bath would not swing which made it difficult to access the taps and in bath shower. I suggest that it might be pointed out that the cottage is not suitable for infirm or disabled people."

"A comfortable holiday home in need of some improvements. The lawn in the enclosed rear garden is just a mud patch and the roof of the covered deck area needs cleaning, all it does at the moment is make the kitchen dark, thus requiring the lights on when in use. Whilst you can park two cars on the drive, it is steep and my car "bottomed out" forcing me to park on the road. This is not mentioned in the property description, if it had been I would not have booked. A few simple additions would also help, such as:- a shaver point in the bathroom, a power point near a mirror when using the hairdryer and maybe a clock or two."
