"Stayed as a family with elderly parents and a well behaved dog. The place was very reasonably priced and some of the décor reflected the price. That saying, we had a great time, the place was comfortable and warm and cosy. The kitchen was quite well equipped , although they could do with a few baking sheets for the oven, The stairs were quite difficult for my old mum, who's not as agile as she used to be. The stair carpet is threadbare - it reminded me very much of a gite. Please be aware that dogs are only allowed downstairs. The bathrooms had good showers. The bedrooms are big with lovely views. The area is great for walks. Ludlow and Knighton are near- Knighton had a chipshop and takeaways. We visited the Sitwell Arms- dogs are allowed. We had the tasty carvery on the Sunday.(we booked after visiting on the Friday and advised it gets booked up ) The 2 pubs and the tiny village shop are all a very short walk away. There are lots of games and books available- the tv hasn't all the freeview channels but it worked fine. The docking station worked fine too- didn't try the upstairs tvs .All in all we had a lovely time."

"We found Glentramman Lodge to be a haven of peace; a jewel set in idyllic countryside of rolling green hills with gentle heather-covered mountains and beautiful refreshing mountain-air. The surrounding area is a naturalist's paradise with rabbits, swallows, buzzards, foxes, badgers and sheep in abundance! The lodge itself was excellent in every way - comfortable, fully furnished, clean, warm and spacious, making for a wonderful base for walks and activities in the surrounding area of Mid-Wales and Shropshire. The owners were particularly helpful in making our holiday an enjoyable experience. Our fullest thanks to them and we wish them every success. "

"A spacious, comfortable, and well equipped house, in a very nice, well-connected village. The villagers whom we met were welcoming and interested in our presence. The house has some drawbacks which reflect its varied history. It was obviously a village shop and the kitchen\dining room had the serving counter and shelves to show that former use. But it felt open to the public, with passers by seeing us at breskfast - never a pretty sight. And the sitting room, by contrast, was dark and cramped. All was forgiven in the face of our host's helpfulness and friendliness, and the beauty of rhe surrounding countryside."

"If you want peace and quiet this is the place to go. Clean and tidy. We took our dog who soon settled in well. We were allowed access into the owners garden but due to damp weather it was not possible. Nearest town was Knighton. All necessary requirements there including a big Co-op with parking and petrol. Many places to visit and walks. The Castle Inn pub about 5/10 minutes away very good plus The Sun Inn at Clun. Also a most unusual tea house called The Bird on the Rock at Clungunford. Excellent.Suggest to Rebecca that a safe for key to cottage maybe a good idea in case they are out when people leave."

"Lovely, comfortable cottage with everything that you could want for your stay. Rebecca made me feel very welcome. There was a problem with the electricity when I arrived but it was dealt with really smoothly and I am sure that Rebecca would have made sure that I was fed and watered if they hadn't been able to fix it. There are so many lovely walks in the area, many direct from the cottage without having to use a car, and the descriptions by Rebecca and Phil are first class - really easy to follow. There is a reasonable choice of shops for everyday needs in Knighton, about 4 miles away."
