"'We have stayed at Chateau Du Raguermiere at Easter and Summer and fell in love with it as soon as we visited it the first time. It is very luxuriously decorated in a subtle mix of 19 century style and trendy designer pieces which blend very well to give it an updated classic feel. Staying there is such a special experience and it really feels like home but with all the grandeur of the high ceilings, spacious rooms, long corridors that stretch the length of the building on each floor, immaculate gardens and grounds and the fun feeling that the chateau is really ours for the time we are there! Our children and their friends have enormous fun playing endless games of ‘it’, hide and seek, swimming, running up to the fruit and vegetable garden to choose things they ask John to prepare for their supper, or picking and eating as much fruit as they can. We all tried archery, boules and Frisbee golf and took the bikes out to Langeais. My husband runs the jogging trail and we both used the gym. Caroline even found a Personal Trainer to visit while we stayed, to help to motivate us. John and Caroline are wonderful – helpful, friendly and happy to shop, cook, tidy up and babysit as much as we want; yet never around too much. We have many special memories of delicious, beautifully presented lunches by the pool; evening drinks and canapes in the courtyard or drawing room and superb dinners served in the dining room. Often we just wandered down into Langeais to the local cafes and restaurants for lunch and dinner as it’s such an easy and pleasant walk past the huge Langeais chateau. There’s lots of choice including a pizzeria, creperie, gastronomic restaurants, lots of cafes plus ice cream and chocolate shops. John and Caroline booked some restaurants for us before we arrived in France as we wanted to plan some nights out without the children, so we wandered down to Langeais for dinner while Caroline babysat. The children love them both! The people in the shops, cafes and restaurants speak English and are very friendly; and the town is so nice as it is definitely French and not too touristy. The Sunday market in Langeais is amazing and definitely worth visiting, with every kind of food, crockery, leather goods, clothing, shoes and curios for sale. We would highly recommend holidaying at Chateau De Raguermiere, as it’s our dream place to stay and we only wish we could book it up more often.’ The N Family, Berkshire, UK"

"Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the owner (4 adults). After a short introduction, we took a bottle of wine and a briquette straight away and drank the bottle in our holiday home with us in an animated conversation conversation. We already knew a little how it would be because 9 years ago we had already been on holiday. In the first days, we received some good tips from him for restaurants and other useful things. He let us go further and greeted us every time he saw us or made a chat when he noticed that we were looking forward to it. Because the owner, who lives with a very nice sister on the same yard, is already at age (77 years) and has no successors, expensive investment in the fermette is probably not available for the time being. Therefore, the tenant should not expect a large luxury but the property is neat and spacious enough for 4 people. The owner assured us of our question whether he wanted to continue the rental for a long time as he planned to continue jusqu "a la mort. The area is as expected to be very rural with a fairly wide view over the fields, afforestation that is not gloomy Feels good silence (very little traffic) and ideal for loose deer, pheasants, hares and rabbits. We find the house and its surroundings especially suitable for adults who like rest, visiting fun historical places, visiting beautiful castles , Cycling trips along the Loire or beyond, and enjoying lunch or dinner in cozy restaurants. Even in bad weather, we sometimes did. For young children, there may be less possibilities, but that is true of course The Loire region in general. By the way, we were always very pleased with our stay in Saint-Bohaire. The last night we are by the owner and his z Still invited us to stay in their house c"

"In 2015 we were here for the first time, the two of us. We have had time so fine that we in 2016 (from late August to mid-September) here come back again. This time with our son (1 year old). It was again delicious. The rest, the birds, the beautiful garden, swimming pool (where you can pull laps), the view. The pictures on the website really was nothing said too much. We had in 2015 and this time rented the big house. The smaller house is also very nice (and would certainly spacious enough for three of us). We will undoubtedly be back with the three of us, but think also about to agree to go with friends or family. We would rent the smaller and the larger house, and we have the rich only. The village of Montrichard is located about 2 kilometers away, down the slope. I went to get bread every morning on the bike at one of the four or five bakeries (with 2 gears a sporting effort, but doable). The village is cozy evenings and you have a choice of several restaurants with terraces. Furthermore, we have been in include Blois and Amboise (both highly recommended), and one of the best zoos I know in the Zoo de Beauval (and trip advisor agrees with me). Coincidentally we met the owners. They were very responsive and helpful (with tips about the environment, but also help launch cable), and they felt very well where tenants need of. The latter speaks of all the houses, equipment, garden. The bigger house is for tall people, be careful preservation of many classic details also means that my 1.90m especially in the upstairs bedrooms to watch out for the beam structures. But this small sacrifice I could not deterred in any case, to come back here again!"

"‘We stayed at Chateau De Raguermiere in July 2012. It is an impressive and attractive 19th century chateau that has been very well restored and beautifully re-decorated. Though it would accommodate a large group, it has an intimate feel. The enclosed wooded grounds are very well kept (including a vegetable garden) and the large heated pool and terrace area are excellent and a sun-trap. We were well looked after and made to feel welcome by the English couple who run the estate – they have lived in France for many years. Domaine Du Fort is on the edge of the attractive small town of Langeais, on the River Loire about 15 minutes west of Tours (which is a noted gastronomic centre). We found a couple of good restaurants and interesting small shops, plus a massive fortress which is worth a visit. The main Loire Valley attractions (Chenenceaux, Villandry, Amboise, etc.) are all close by and there are several reasonably easy routes from the UK. We drove via the Channel Tunnel and near-empty motorways (via Rouen) but there are also Ryanair flights from Stansted to Tours. The other options include a very fast TGV link direct from Tours to Paris CDG airport and the Portsmouth – Caen/St Malo ferry. I’d certainly recommend it for medium and larger parties. The pool and secure grounds make it a very good place for families in the summer.’ Mr A - Henley on Thames, UK"

"We had a nice holiday. The house is quietly situated on a hill with beautiful views. There is a lot of nature in the immediate area and the Loire castles are within easy reach, as are supermarkets. The private swimming pool (sharing with guests of the other house) has a nice size and is well situated. It is often windy because of the location on the hill in warm weather, that is refreshing, otherwise doing a warm vest. The large house, La Ferme, has better views and garden / grassland than the smaller house. It is true that there is a lot of grassland around the houses, so with the move of garden furniture you always find a nice place. The bedrooms are spacious. Childcare facilities (chair and bed) are provided. The bathroom downstairs is modern, the bathroom upstairs is renewed. The kitchen is small but cozy and well-equipped. The house is always well-equipped. The Wi-Fi is unstable. After some days, you know which places you have "reach" and where not. Could also be nice). The cleaning is done with the French blow. Long people have to bug through the authentic beams in the house."
