"We loved our stay at Woodlands. It was by far the nicest cottage we have ever stayed in. It was beautifully renovated, comfortable, well equipped. It was a great location to explore the region and we absolutely fell in love with Laugharne. It is just stunning. The location is great for exploring the coast, learning about Dylan Thomas, a short walk to a pub. The food in the area isn't the best but we had a lovely tea at Arthurs (we should have booked early as we would have gone more often). We would recommend going to Pendine Sands, Barafundle Bay (with a nice coastal walk with the dog on the way). We also liked the National Trust Colby Woodland Garden. The dog had a lovely time jumping in and out of the river with some other dogs.We enjoyed the complimentary Welsh cakes in the cottage. My children even managed to sleep as the rooms were so comfortable (unusual for them, guess we exhausted them). I particularly enjoyed relaxing and reading in the lovely bath. We had the fire on once but were really lucky with the weather most of the week.Well done on the beautiful restoration. It's great that you have restored it as it would be such a shame for it not to be enjoyed as it now will be."

"A lovely property - warm, comfortable, generally clean although the windows could have done with a good clean to enjoy the views. As described and photographed. What isn't shown is that there is a big fridge/freezer in the kitchen which was great. Could do with some more crockery (like cereal bowls and serving dishes) and pots and pans, but we managed. We could only get a phone signal at the top of the garden behind the house, which I guess is not surprising given the barn's location. Also, the wifi went down several afternoons for a few hours for no apparent reason. The TV may be capable of being a Smart TV but we couldn't find the connection to make it so. Also, as several previous reviews have mentioned, the division of seating between the two living areas makes watching TV together difficult as it is in the smaller area with only a 3-seater setee looking directly at the TV and another chair you have to sit at 90 degrees in to see the screen. It might be better if the owners moved the TV into the larger seating area, next to the fire where at least 4 people can watch in comfort or 5 if you drag another chair in. Overall though a great property."

"Lovely barn conversion. Home from home. Beautiful area and surroundings. A little isolated though and barn door didn’t feel safe. Spooked out overnight. Need a better lock on the door. Also marked cleanliness down as there were lots of cigarette ends on Patio area from previous tenants. Also the general surrounding area looked a bit unkempt. Probably just need a gardener. The beach was also tricky to access as you need to either cross the railway line(scarey) or go under the railway. Beach was quite rocky for my elderly dog to walk on. The hotel was lovely with a lovely lady ‘Caroline’ as host and seemed to do everything. The Cart sheet is high up on a hill which is about 500 meters long. Need to be quite fit to walk up and down. It is also a little dangerous due to speeding cars. Yes I would recommend to anyone really as you can always drive up the hill. I would go back only if the barn door lock is made more secure."

"This cottage is in a beautiful location and was very quiet the week we were in it due to the other cottages which are immediately adjacent being vacant(it is very close to them and shares all gardens) There is no WiFi intermittent TV signal and quite lonely at night if your easily spooked. When we arrived the cottage was absolutely filthy looking like it had not been cleaned in a while we spent @ 2 hours cleaning including the bedding which had hairs in it and removing cobwebs and spiders from all the ceilings washing all the cutlery etc. On the second night the toilet began to run Consistently we rang the hotel to be told you can get the key for next door and use their loo it was a full 24 hours before the cottage our possessions and food were in was useable again. The hotel very quickly made us aware they do in fact only keyhold and had done us a favour sorting the problem. Nice location far too basic amenities ."

"Gwili Cottage was absolutely immaculate when I arrived. This cottage was just perfect for me and my dogs over Christmas and New Year. While its absolutely off the beaten track its gets 10 out of 10 for those who want/need to get away from it all. You can take slow walks up the river or stay in the cottage and chill out next to the log fire. If your burnt out like I was upon arrival and need to gain some space, time out and relaxation this is the place to go for peace and tranquility. Points to remember - shop before you arrive as its a very long car ride to get supplies and read the very specific directions to get there.Gwili is charming, spacious, comfortable, well furnished and equipped with absolutely everything you could need for a self-catering holiday. It was a real honor to be the first guest and I was warmly welcomed with the most wonderful seasonal gift basket."
