Don’t forget to pack your camera. With glistening locks, winding paths and impressive castles, the scenery is breathtaking. If you love the idea of a snowball fight in summer, take a trip to the Cairngorm plateau! Even in August there is still a little snow at the top. Mountain biking and walking are popular activities here, but for something a little different take a trip down the Malt Whiskey trail. The Cairngorms really is an outdoor adventurer's paradise.

What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages In The Cairngorms To Rent.

"The cottage, well bungalow is located in a small quiet village which for us was ideal.Plenty to do round about without having to travel too far.Loads of walking routes in the woodland surrounding the village and Loch Garten is only 3 mile's away. The bungalow was well equipped but could really do with a spruce up,just to bring it up to date.Another sofa would be useful in the living room and it is big enough to take one.A small TV and DVD would be useful in the conservatory so the kids could watch something of their choice.Remember, there's no WiFi here and mobile networks are poor unless you go outside so if you can't do without the net I wouldn't choose this location, mind you if you can't go without the net for a week or so then it's a pretty sad case.Remember though, you can get a signal away from the village it's just hit and miss due to the location.Overall we really enjoyed our week in the Cairngorms and, don't get me wrong the bungalow provided all we needed for our weeks stay.Oh yeah, the cakes are nice in the Nethy Bridge cafe!!"

"We had a very enjoyable holiday overall, there were just one or two things which would have made it better. The situation was lovely, a great central location to see everything the area has to offer. The house was spacious and clean, but there was only a tiny bit of washing up liquid left, no dishwasher tablets, no black bags apart from the one already on the bin. Also there were no instructions as to what can be recycled etc,. None of this costs much and would have helped to make us feel more welcome. Also, it is a dog friendly house, but there were instructions not to exercise our dog in the garden. Clearly the previous people had, as they had not cleared up after their dog. This was rather disappointing. This said, the house was clean and well stocked in terms of kitchen equipment etc. One further point, the toilet in the main bathroom overflowed continuously. We adjusted the cistern to stop this happening, but then it wouldn't flush. A plumber may be required to fix this."

"The Steading is midway between Boat of Garten and Nethy Bridge, easy access to Aviemore, Loch Garten etc. Lots to do in the area - haven for bird watchers, great for walkers and in terms of family trips etc we had a lovely time swimming in lochs, walking, visiting Landmark theme park 4 miles away and even a day trip into Inverness for Pizza Hut, shopping, Aquadome and the cinema. There are lovely outside seating areas - decked at the back with beautiful views over fields, and some seating at the front looking towards Abernethy Forest. We saw deer up close in the field, and mountain hares, as well as a lovely variety of birds nesting by the cottage (the swallows were highly entertaining). The owner lives next door, which is handy for any problems, but to be honest apart from the wi-fi needing a reboot one day we had no issues. Highly enjoyable, peaceful, quiet place and we will certainly look to returning in the future."

"The cottage was situated in a good location, but, the cottage itself we found to look a little tired and needed some TLC. What was disappointing was that the bathroom toilet would only flush intermittently, we noticed this was previously reported in the visitors book by an earlier visitor. There was mould around the tiles of the on-suite shower room, and also in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the shower in the on-suite bathroom because of this was not used. The bed side light bulb in the end front bedroom had blown, should this have not been checked prior to our arrival? The TV also needs updating, screen size very small for the size of the room. Two of the front garden lights were broken, one of which had fallen onto the grass, again, should this not have been rectified prior to our arrival? Despite the above comments, we would return to the area as we enjoyed visiting Scotland."

"The house is in a great location and was lovely and clean. Easy to get to main road within a few minutes. The mountain is in easy distance (good fun for sledging) and in the snow, roads around the house are kept well gritted. The house has easily adjustable radiators so could keep rooms at individual temperatures. If your lucky you might see the mountain hare hopping around outside too. When we arrived the down stairs toilet was out of action, but a note to say a plumber was coming, who turned up on Monday at no inconvenience to ourselves, and also fixed the showers which weren't draining properly and tightened up a toilet seat the following day. The house could do with a spare supply of light bulbs as several need replacing other than that a wonderful stay."
