"We enjoyed our stay in this cottage, very conveniently located for town centre shops, restaurants, bars, public transport, the minster, the museum, the cinema and the attractive riverside with its little ferry across to Wick and the longer boat trip to Mudeford. Bournemouth, Dorchester and the New Forest are also in easy day-out distance. We had travelled by train, but the off-road parking was useful when relatives called. For a couple, the spacious main bedroom with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space was fine, but the second bedroom looked as if it might be rather cramped for another two adults. Traffic noise had been mentioned in other reviews and, although we were aware of it at times, we didn't find it very intrusive. It was made clear in the property description that the bathroom was on the ground floor, which, together with the narrow staircase, might not suit everyone. With so much to do nearby, we didn't use the garden area but thought it would benefit from a bit of TLC, and the outdoor table and seating might have appealed more if not so close to the house next door."

"The house was an excellent base for us, and the owner was very helpful and informative. We also appreciated the lovely vases of flowers when we arrived, plus tea/coffee/milk/biscuits. Overall, it was very good value. We liked the sitting room and dining area in particular. The back garden was lovely too - but we didn't get enough dry weather to sit out there much. Shower and bath were good. Nearby shops were handy - and we made use of the big Sainsbury's just up the road too. Immediate area isn't terribly attractive, but that wasn't an issue for us. (We didn't have any problems whatsoever with parking immediately outside - I know other reviewers had mentioned this)Our only (very minor) niggles in the house were with the TV remote control (very tempermental - even buying new batteries didn't help) and the cooker: gas hob - the 'click' lighter function was tricky and we had trouble lighting the gas on a number of occasions; also had trouble with grill function in oven - couldn't quite get it to do what we wanted, despite the instructions."

"If you like quiet and a bit of seclusion, then this is the place for you!Situated on a private gated eastate, the grounds are very good with deer, pheasent's and other wildlife all running free, i really enjoyed our stay!Although this is a little secluded, it is not far, by car, to the local shopping centre of Castlepoint, about a 10 minute drive, where Bournemouth is only a further 5 minutes in the other direction.Bedrooms and bathrooms were of a really good size and all very clean. The only issue we had were the blinds in the bedrooms didn't blackout the daylight, so no late lie-in'sDownstairs consists of a small galley kitchen on the entrance to the premises with a large living/dinning room over looking a large back garden and patio area, which is great for watching the local wildlife. We only met the vendors briefly on arrival and when we left, but found them to be very friendly. If you decide to stay at this venue, which i do reccommend, you will need a car to get about, apart from that enjoy the surrounding piece and quiet!"

"We have rented self-catering properties for many years of different sizes and throughout the country. We booked this because of its proximity to a wedding we were attending and also the fact that it permitted pets. Because of the price we anticipated this would mean an element of luxury - but unfortunately this was not the case. The welcome pack was the best aspect . The property is adequate but we did feel it needed some updating and TLC to bring it to a level which warranted the price. Ie. The carpets and towels are worn and need replacing. Kitchen table was wobbly. The sliding door had a damaged lock/handle and the simple lock on the front door both gave us concern for security. There was no full-length mirror anywhere and other items were missing/need- we listed them at the propertyThe two smaller bathrooms need some redecoration/TLCInstructions needed for use of the cooker. The outside courtyard needed tidying and sweeping.Between the Quay and the Sea was pleasant enough but overpriced and we would not use it again.Sorry"

"First impressions count and we were immediately impressed with Gulls Way when we arrived. It was clean and tidy and beautifully located 2 minutes from the beach. The house was comfortable and well equipped. A washing machine, dishwasher and microwave, TV and wifi made life easy, particularly as we had 2 children with us. There are 2 bathrooms, one on each floor, giving bath or shower with constant hot water. We had plenty of space for clothes although there is no wardrobe in the double room. The king size room has ample wardrobe space. We discovered dustbin day is on Thursdays but needed to make one trip to the nearby recycling centre as bins became full. We enjoyed our week and would go to Gulls Way again."
