"It's been a few weeks since we spent our Easter holiday at Deepwell Barn, and I've been meaning to find the time to write a few words about our experience. The cottage was a great base to explore the area. We live in Hull, so Devon and Cornwall are quite a long drive away. We easily visited places of interest local to the cottage and farther afield. For all intents and purposes the cottage is a new build within an existing barn structure, which is great. Everything being like a new home, but with the charm of an old building. That said the barn has been converted to a very high standard, and being from a construction background, I spent a lot of time admiring the quality of the joinery. The cottage had everything we could possibly need, and the welcome pack left by the owners was a very nice touch.Whilst the cottage is in a very rural landscape, within ten minutes you're in the centre of Bideford with all the shops and facilities you could possibly need. All in all we had a great time, and we would highly recommend a holiday there."

"This was a lovely property, perfect for an out of season escape. Right on the Tarka trail you had unlimited walking and cycling right on your doorstep. It is large and detached and perfect for two people who want peace and quiet, with a bit of home comfort. I appreciated the hairdryer as I forgot my own. It’s a short walk to Bideford along the trail and the beautiful beach at Westward Ho! just 15 minutes drive. My only niggle was that the kitchen equipment was sparse and poor quality as is often the case with rental properties. If you want a fire the night you arrive bring your own kindling as they only provided three chunky logs and a couple of fire lighters which wasn’t enough to get the fire going. Also if you have fire gauntlets I’d bring them as I really missed mine! All in all a super break, with amazing weather in October."

"The Shoe Box was a comfortable and well equipped base. Garry the owner was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed eating out on the small decked area and found the local shop, the fish and chip shop (just a few doors away) and Memories restuarant all very convenient. As someone who enjoys walking I was pleased to be able to explore a different footpath each day from the doorstep, most walks ending up on the estuary looking over Instow, up to Bideford or on to the Northam Burrows leading to the lovely sanddunes and miles of sandy beach and shallow waters to Westwood Ho! Do try the delicous Hockings coffee ice cream from the van in Westward Ho!"

"Great spacious cottage in a very quiet location full of charm and character. Amazing shower with rainbar shower head which was lovely after a day at the beach! Also had a rolltop bath if preferred! Kitchen was very well equipped and the owner left welcome pack and goodies which were very gratefully received after the long journey! Local pub about 1.5 miles served lovely food and we thought the location was perfect our family visiting beaches and the places of interest. No wifi (which was a welcome tecchy holiday to be honest) but might not suit all but we would most definitely stay again and highly recommend."

"Sheerwater was a lovely homely apartment with stunning views of Appledore bay. The apartment is well equipped within the fab kitchen. The lounge has plenty of dvd's and books to choose from if your having a restful time indoors. The new bathroom is perfectly clean, and the bedrooms are very comfy with lovely soft pillows, and nip white soft towels. There was z slight issue with the heating boiler when we arrived, after informing the owner a gentleman came round within the hour to sort everything. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this apartment for your holiday"
