What our customers are saying about our Country Cottages In Belper To Rent.

"Disappointing as back door lock didn't work so couldn't access the garden, we booked the cottage for the enclosed garden for the dog, so we had to go out front door walk around the terrace of cottages to get access, according to entries in the visitor book the lock had been unreliable since early 2018 and still wasn't repaired, it also compromised the safety of the cootage if there was a fire as there was only one exit via the front door, we did contact the owner but he could not help us s he W's away from home. In the details it says there are two parking spaces, there is not as it's a first come first served, so our car had to go in spaces in other roads and nowhere near the cottage. The cottage in general was tired and needs attention to detail, the remote for TV had flat batteries which we replaced the next day when shops opened and the stereo/radio remote had no batteries at all, the coffee in the jar in kitchen was set hard in the jar obviously been there a very long time. The directions to get to cottage were awful, never did find the B road all it needed was to say follow signs for railway station, turn left at top of hill take last road on right and cottage is on left. Wouldn't return to this cottage again."

"We turned up at the cottage and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in several weeks or months in places. There were cobwebs, spiders nests, dirty mirrors, dirty kitchen surfaces, dirty floors. We spent a good while cleaning the place when we should have been relaxing and enjoying our holiday. The living/dining room wasn't relaxing so we bought items to make it more homely - throws for the sofa (which also needed a good clean). The bedroom was comfortable. The bathroom was okay. In the top bedroom there was no curtains or shutters on the windows. There was a good supply of logs though the glass in the stove is not properly sealed. The front and rear gardens were either overgrown or full of weeds."

"Garden area looking a bit worn. Decking needs a paint, Weeding etc. Kitchen is also worn and the oven needs a clean. It set off the smoke alarm when heating up and stunk the place out. New sealant needed around the shower. We went for a hot tub weekend and we were disappointed as the hot tub was cold when we got there and not hot enough until the 2nd night.Too many signs with rules on everywhere. Don't do this etc. I am assuming they have had breakages from previous bookings. I think the odd broken mug should be included in the price. It wasn't cheap and the mugs were just from a super market."

"I stayed at this lovely cottage as I had to work in the area. It was tastefully furnished and everything was of such a high quality which helped make my stay extremely comfortable. The attention to detail was impeccable and I loved the little extras like a coffee machine, a welcome pack and some flowers from the garden inside. It was convenient to amenities and to areas of interest in the surrounding areas. The hosts were so kind, welcoming and helpful and I felt like I had made some new friends. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it."

"Brilliant little cottage in wonderful setting with great hosts. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay but as we stayed for two weeks, which was exceptional circumstances, we would have really appreciated a washing machine and ironing facilities. My fault as didn't check and under normal circumstances this is probably not necessary so we understand and we really enjoyed our stay even in bad winter weather we were warm and cosy. Thank you. We have no hesitation in recommending the cottage."
