What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Beadnell To Rent.

"We booked for two nights and only stayed for one.The cottage was highly specified and spotlessly clean as illustrated but in the event it felt like sitting in a glossy magazine feature. This reality was not for us. We maybe naively thought the cottage was by itself from the photo and were surprised to find it was part of a park home-esque developement. At this price we would have expected at least a small hospitality tray with tea bags, coffee sachets etc rather than the dishcloth, pan scrubber and two dishwasher tablets. We could not find anything to actually light the logs for the fire. The bed was very poor,it creaked and the pillows were way too soft.Strangely these items did not fit in with the high quality furnishings. The rat's nest of wires and hanging trailing sockets adjacent to the tv did not quite match the ethos of the cottage. The handwritten passcode for the wifi had been corrected by someone else and it was unclear what the last letter was. No mention of the network name either, these are shown on the back of the router but not everyone may know that. The introduction section of the visitor book was not very well written and mention was made of what must be the shortest daily opening times of any shop...8.00am to 8.00am. The introduction should be proof read to cover this and other mistakes. We had really looked forward to this weekend and although the standard of fit and cleanliness were exactly as described and could probably not be bettered, we felt it was let down very seriously as noted above.Sadly,we would not book again."

"Two observations:- 1) There were some upstairs lights which did not work (on our arrival) plus a bedroom window handle was missing. In my view these things should have been checked and corrected before we got there. We did alert the property person and we were advised that someone would call (on the Monday morning) to deal with the matters. Someone actually called Tuesday PM - the window handle was replaced and the lights were attended to. However, when we came to test the lights on our return to the house they still did not function properly. 2) The information pack (about the house) was mostly in fact a summary of facilities in the surrounding locality. It would have been helpful if a summary of instructions re kitchen equipment, arrangements for bin collection, instructions re TV's and Wi-Fi could have been incorporated into one, handy information pack rather than scattered around in drawers or pinned to a cupboard door. The situation of the house just 5 minutes from the beach was great and I would happily return to Beadnell again. Plus any eating establishments we tried in the area provided excellent service and choice - in Beadnell itself at the Seasalt Café, at Alnmouth at the Sun Inn and at Craster at the main village pub."

"Had to contact maintenance mobile number but quickly resolved. Then next day had further problems with heating programmer and electrical problem with lights and fan in an ensuite. Had to report it to maintenance people who tried to resolve it as soon as they could. The light in the en suite did not get repaired until our last day but we were able to use other facilities. Nothing was too much trouble for the maintenance firm and felt they tried to resolve as soon as they could. The house was lovely and warm to come back to after being out all day (in October). Well equipped. Very easy to get to beach with small children. The only constructive criticism is that if a dog is on the holiday - the garden really needs either a security light or a light that can be switched on at the back door. Once the dog goes out the door in the evening (October onwards), it cannot be seen all round the garden or where it chooses to toilet ! It is a large garden which is wonderful for the dog but not so good next morning when you have to cover it all 'poo picking' Would definitely recommend to others."

"Had a great family holiday here..fully equipt with everything you could need during your stay. The beds were the best we've ever slept in in a holiday house. The house was lovely and clean, a real home from home. The enclosed garden was great for the children no worries about them escaping. A short walk brought us to the fantastic Beadnell beach...yes it rained a few days but it didn't stop the fun kids just wore their wet suits to play on the beach. Only two negative points (wouldn't stop us recommending to others or going back ourselves) firstly the hot water was scalding hot...not normally a complaint but we had young children with us! Secondly a travel cot might be a nice addition, it would save parents bringing one and using valuable boot space. All in all a fantastic holiday house!"

"Couldn't of wished for a more beautiful cottage only a short car ride to Beadnal which has a gorgeous beach which our 9 mnth puppy enjoyed. The cottage kitchen was more equipt than my own kitchen the garden is enclosed by a stone wall with amazing views over it. My only little fault is the fence next to the other cottage is a slat fence our dog isn't very tall and he could stand up on it using his paws it's also open slats so I think had someone of been staying next door and had a dog our dog likes to woof at other dogs to get them to come to him to play. However there is another garden across the little road where you park your car which is lovely. We really enjoyed our week made even more special by amazing weather."
