"Ideal ground floor flat for us & our 16 year old Springer Spaniel, Jenny, who can no longer climb stairs. She found the laminate floor a bit tricky but we knew it was there so not a surprise to us. She could now win Dancing on Ice. The huge rug in front of the 2 sofas & fire was her favourite snuggle place.Very clean, comfortable & has everything you need. Great shower, lashings of hot water & good heating system - we went mid March so we needed the warmth in the evenings. All you would need to take is your personal stuff & food. 2 minutes dog walk from the sea - wonderful. Well stocked shop across the road and a good selection of independant shops just along the main street. Glenton's bakery is fab - lots of choice, great staff and the best bacon butties & hot tea after a long walk on the beach. Seek it out.Don't be put off by the fact it's on a main road - the flat is quiet. We weren't disturbed at all by any road noise, slept like logs.Neighbours are friendly, helpful & chatty, which suited us for local info.We were only there 3 nights - wish it could have been a longer stay."

"My friend and I with my dog had a wonderful weekend break staying at Marine House. I can thoroughly recommend staying there. The house is in a quiet location (we heard no noise at all either from the street or neighbours) and is near to the beach and the promenade and within walking distance to local shops. It is well situated as a base to explore the Northumberland coast. Marine House is tastefully furnished with excellent quality bedding and towels provided. It was lovely to relax on the large comfy sofa's and the wood burning stove makes it very cosy and a good nights sleep is guaranteed in the extremely comfortable beds. The kitchen is well equipped and the large dining table is great to sit round to enjoy local fish and chips. The house is spotless as is the large outside yard. Helen, the owner is very friendly and helpful. My friend and I agree we have found a gem and look forward to staying there again. PS my dog loved the house and soon settled in, he also loved the sandy beaches. A lovely house in a friendly fantastic part of the country."

"Lovely little holiday flat with great owner and friendly helpful neighbours. Pretty much everything you need for a week's holiday tv, oven, microwaves, washing machine, buckets and spades. No tumble dryer but plenty of radiator clothes airer so wasn't essential. Beds and sofas comfy. Secure back area ideal for the dog. 8 minute walk to the beach and 5 mins to local shop for essentials. 10 minutes to Tyne Tunnel. Lidl and Aldi 5 minutes away. I organised a Tesco Delivery for our good though which arrived no problem. No issues with parking lots of space. Would have been a 10 across the board if a couple of niggles were addressed. Electric and gas weren't on meter and requiring top up (no mention of this when booking). With the cost of the accomodation I would expect this to be included. In addition in the house we couldn't get any mobile phone reception nor internet. Which in this day and age makes organising day trips etc tricky. Again for the cost and would expect wifi (even if there was a small surcharge for this if you wanted it.)"

"We loved this home so much that we don’t want to share it so the availability doesn’t disappear too quickly ??Seriously though a fab location, view stunning. The owners have put so much thought and effort into the accommodation to make it feel like a beautiful relaxing holiday home ,which they have definitely achieved. More so with this being their very first season of rentals. The home is fresh, clean, well maintained and little personal welcoming touches which go that extra mile for a guest. No pets at this home accepted which is a huge bonus for our family.Well equipped home & immaculately clean.Bedding & towels provided of the best quality & condition ... new!!! We didn’t want to leave after our 7 night stay & would have happily stayed longer if poss.So if you’re looking for a friendly, relaxing home with a gorgeous view (see sunrise photo),HOMELEA is your first choice. Great for families.Looking forward to returning ASAP."

"This was our second visit to The Whitehouse. We went over New Year and the Easter holiday. We are a family of five with a 7, 5 and 2 yr old. We like the sea front and to take the childrens scooters to the playground and fishermans museum. We liked the butcher opposite and the Ink Spot real ale place and Melanies tea shop (all opposite). The fish and chips shop at the end (again across the Road) was lovely too. The house has a large family kitchen downstairs and lovely bedrooms upstairs with a tv room. The bathroom, brand new, has a seperate shower and bath so everybody can get ready at the same time. Wifi meant we could play our music on the small speaker we bought. Only used the outside terrace for drying washing. We visited Alnwick, Low Newton by the sea, Walkworth, Dunstubrugh (spelling?), Bamburgh and Newcastle. We expect there will be a third visit...probably many more."
