What our customers are saying about our Half Term Cottages In Austwick To Rent.

"About a mile walk into Austwick it self. A pretty village but nothing much going on there. The pub The Game Cock Inn Is a very friendly place both customers and staff alike. The food served there is good, however although my Sunday Roast was okay, I would probably go for something else next time. The Cottage itself is immaculate. It certainly has had someone with good taste buying the accessories, towels etc. It has been furnished to a very high standard. Kitchen units, doors, everything has been done with taste. I would have no hesitation recommending this cottage, its beautiful. The centre seat of the settee is uncomfortable as some of the springs have broke, but maybe the owner isn't unaware of this. If I had seen them this morning I would have mentioned it as it just doesn't go with the rest. We had two dogs with us and the owners have created a dog walk area which was great to walk them first thing in a morning. Having now stayed there I would say the only thing for me was the lack of a closed off garden. You were unable just to let them out as obviously there are other dogs, horses and riders and cars going back and forth and the area is dangerous for everyone. To have been able just to have opened the door and let them go in your own closed in garden would have been fantastic. It is, after all, a working farm. If you have an obedient dog, it may work for you. That is the only reason I have marked it down. As most of the Yorkshire Dales some beautiful walking area's all either a short drive away or from your own doorstep. I would more then likely recommend this immaculate cottage with its beautiful log fire."

"We were greeted on arrival by Gaynor and Neil who showed us round and who were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. It showed that this was the first time the cottage had been let out for holidays, as it was immaculate. The cottage had been decorated to a very high standard and the appliances were top rate. There was everything we could possibly need to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The cottage was warm and cosy, the wood burner helped with this aspect even though we didn't really need it as the weather was kind to us. I could imagine in the winter months the burner would not disappoint, the heat it generated was immense. We had a lovely comfortable sofa and huge tv for total relaxation. The king size bed with top quality bedding all helped to aid a restful night sleep as it was so comfortable. My husband has mobility problems so we found the wet room shower to be most accommodating, as it was powerful and roomy. The lovely deep bath in the bedroom is nice for those able to have a nice soak before bed. The cottage is situated down a quiet road, with ample off road parking. Neil also provided us with garden furniture during our stay to provide us with a nice place to sit out in the garden while the weather was fine. There are lots of things to do, whether visiting the many lovely villages, markets or walking. I would highly recommend this cottage as a superb base to spend your holiday, you will not be disappointed as our hosts go that little bit further than most to make sure "it's home from home or better"."

"BH weekend stay, me, hubby, 2 sons and girlfriend... perfect cottage for all our needs. Arrived to a friendly Yorkhire/Lancashire welcome.. flowers to welcome us. Has the wow factor when you walk in with a stunning stone fire place.. kindling in log burner.. we didnt need it as found ourselves in sunshine all weekend with breakfast oustide on the patio in the sunshine and evening drinks listening to wild life and star gazing after a few cheeky drinks.. my sin could't believe how clear the skys are compared with Leeds city centre... the kitchen is smart with all necessary appliances for cooking, dishwasher, good utensils etc.. lounge area comfy for a night of games and family fun. The bedrooms were gorgeous as were the bathroom and on suite ( loved it!!) Especialy after the 3 peak challenge of 24 miles! We ate at the pub in Austwick..1 mile away, again 5 stars. They accomodated us last minute on a BH sunday and were so friendly and the food was fab, we have very differnt tastes as a family but all of us were happy indeed. The whole area is gorgeous and everyone we met around the cottage not just thowners were friendly and helpful.. HIGHLY recommend"

"The owners were always on hand but not intrusive and were anxious to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The farmhouse is very comfortable. We went in December to meet friends and found it really cosy due to the log burner and underfloor heating. We were the first guests after the farmhouse was finished and it is well equipped with just about everything you could need including fluffy towels, fluffy duvets and a full tange of kitchen appliances so you can cook if you choose not to eat out at one of the many local hostelries serving excellent food. The farmhouse is located in a cobbled courtyard so no muddy boots but there is a stable and working farm around the back if you want to say hello to the horses and livestock. Dogs are made welcome and there is an enclosed area to exercise your dog(s) safely. Highly recommended and a little gem."
