"The cottage was dirty and smelt of damp. Cobwebs everywhere and little spiders in the bath that were dead and had been there a while! Couldn’t put anything in the wardrobes as they smelt of damp. The clothes horse provided was rusty. Dusty windowsills. Lovely view from the property. Would have been nice if they’d plugged in the fridge as altho we paid for electricity via the meter we didn’t realise fridge wasn’t plugged in so had to move it in order to plug it in. The 3 seater sofa needs replacing as it is so uncomfortable. The kitchen was nicely stocked with utensils and the oven was good. The beds very lovely and comfortable. Please be careful as the hot water was extremely hot! They have warning signs to let you know but you need to be careful if you have young children and they accidentally use the wrong tap in the bathroom as it’s not a mixer tap. The towel rail in bathroom isn’t fixed to the wall properly. The towel rail holder on the back of the bathroom door is rusty. Walk to the beach is about 15-20 mins but if you go along by the cottages and out of the gate you then have to walk through lots of fields and watch out for the sheep poo! The other walk to the beach means walking on the road as there is no footpath and it can be quite dangerous especially if you have young children. The swimming pool was lovely and we had fun. You have to pay for the jacuzzi and sauna. The sauna has to be booked in advance. No idea what that was like as we didn’t want to pay for it. This is a very small holiday village with stunning views. You have to leave your car in the car park and can’t park near your property. Trolleys are provided tho. I would come again but defo would not stay in Ocean View. The drive to Bude is about 8-10 mins which is a lovely place to visit. Morrison’s is the closest shopping place and is approx 10 min drive.Widemouth Manor hotel/restaurant is just down the road and they serve amazing food. It can get very busy tho especially on a hot day. Can take up to 1hr to get your food. Also make sure if you’re ordering starters and mains that the stuff ensure this is done properly on their computer as unfortunately they didn’t do this with our order and so our starters and mains came together! We had to send our mains back and then wait 1hr again for them. They were worth waiting for (amazing burgers)Also if you’re going to the Eden Project have a look at Hangloose next to it and book the sky wire and gravity swing experience - absolutely amazing. Expensive but well worth it"

"It could be fantastic with a few adjustments. In both the twin rooms upstairs only 1 of the skylights had working blinds. And the windows that did have blinds, the blinds were light coloured so didn’t really do anything to keep the light out. My children were up with the sun every morning and so were we. I booked the cottage on the premise that there was WiFi available. It was definitely one of the main criteria when we were looking for accommodation. We have small children who go to bed early and we wanted to watch films on the computer. Also, they like to relax with their kindles after a busy day exploring. Unfortunately, there was no WiFi available in Goose Cottage. I really feel that this cottage cannot be advertised as WiFi enabled and feel quite angry that it is not as advertised. We asked the vendors and were told they had someone coming Monday. There was still no WiFi when we left. On the other hand, my children thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals everyday and the owner was lovely with the children. Very patient with the thousand questions asked. I feel quite bad with the low scores as most things were great, but our main criteria wasn’t sufficiently met."

"Overall we loved Thurlibeer. It’s in a great location, close to Bude and a couple of supermarkets for supplies. It’s also within easy reach of other beaches and more of Cornwall. There is a large grassy area for outdoor games and relaxation with the most amazing view towards Widemouth Bay and open countryside. We were a large group of 16 including young children. There were a few minor issues; all kitchen knives were blunt and a sharpener would have helped at meal times as would a measuring jug; we did eventually find some kitchen scales on the last day tucked away out of sight. A couple of the lounge seats had missing slats. The description of a “games room” is a stretch....it is in a dark and dingy basement with a table tennis table in a poor state and the ceiling is right on your head if you are 6ft, we didn’t use it. Final comment relates to the exit; it’s on the main road with fast traffic so you have to be really careful coming out as you have to stretch your neck to see if the way is clear. It’s really a concealed entrance and needs one of those mirrors to check for oncoming traffic, as it is it’s potentially a hazard."

"Goose Cottage was amazing! Pat and her Son Alastair were lovely people, very welcoming and friendly on arrival - nothing was too much trouble. The cottage itself was lovely and clean with all of the equipment we needed for our family holiday. The garden areas were lovely, Pat fed the animals each morning and the children (and adults) were able to join in the fun!The facilities on site were great - a lovely garden area with bench just outside the back door, the pool, the tennis court and a playground which the children in our group loved. Plenty of fields locally too so you could go for a walk in the day or evening if you wanted to and enjoy the views of the sunset. We'd highly recommend Goose Cottage and the other Cottages at Quinceborough Farm. We had relatives who stayed in another at the same time as us and they loved it too!"

"The Old Granary is a beautifully presented cottage. It has everything you need. It is very homely and we were made to feel very welcome from the start when Helen, the owner presented us with homemade scones for cream tea (very yummy indeed!) The bedrooms are immaculate and very comfy. There is nothing you don't need in the Kitchen too. Everything has been thought of. The only downside to the cottage is the location. A return taxi into Bude was £50 so it meant that we didn't go out on a evening Killkhampton is a lovely little village with a couple of nice pubs but again not in walking distance - or safe accessible paths that you could walk on at night. But all in all a very beautiful well maintained cottage with everything you need for a lovely family holiday xx"
