"When we booked, this property had a bath. Whilst it now has an amazing power shower, we were not informed the bath was no longer an option. We were supposed to be a party of 5 adults. However there were only 4 of us and at times we found it quite tight spacewise. We like to cook whilst on holiday. However we found the facilities quite limiting with 3 saucepans, 3 Pyrex dishes and a few very non-non-stick frying pan - pleased we took our own frying pan. The oven door handle got extremely hot and we would be concerned for child/dog safety. Also the dishwasher did not dispense the tablet as it should. As there is street parking, we were asked by a resident to move 1 of our cars so she could park hers. There is no direct parking outside S43622. An indication as to where to park would be helpful. Unfortunately the weather was not good enough to sit out but we wouldn’t have chosen to in the back garden as it wasn’t pleasant with 4 bins, a bit of rough ground and a clothes drier. We did have some lovely walks and whilst there was plenty of information about in the house, there was no specific welcome pack, just the visitor book and a calendar telling us when the binmen came. Karen, the caretaker, was very welcoming and available by text which was helpful. We thanked her for her help. As we had an extra dog, we did hoover round during our holiday."

"The owners is nice old chap very welcoming but the sad truth is the cottage has seen better days. The bathroom has black mold and smells. The fridge is worn out and runs continuously and does not keep things cold enough. It is so noisy it stops you sleeping at night. We gave up turned it off at night and went to the shops each day for fresh food. There is no freezer. The boiler is also very noisy. The lighting set up is ridiculous with all the upstairs and downstairs lights in the main areas on one circuit. Spot light shine in your face when watching TV. By contrast the kitchen area has no lights over the work service and is dark and dingy to the point of being dangerous to chop in. The sky light over the bed area has a blind but the sleeping area is open to the living area and skylight over that area has no blind or no means of closing it so you get woken up by daylight at 4.30 am at this time of year. There was no information as to things to do in the cottage or places to go.The garden is lovely but again no garden furniture to enjoy it so you are stuck inside.Overall the property is not to a suitable standard for renting out to,the public in its current state. With some work, new equipment and some thought it could be lovely."

"A honest review of S22734. A wonderful cottage combining a traditional theme with modern amenities. Very clean throughout and great attention to detail with the furnishings; ensuring an atmospheric ambience. Very close to Inverness and Loch Ness and after a day of touring and creating many special memories the cottage was a comfortable retreat to recharge for the next day. Cannot fault the cottage itself or the location; but there were several nights my husband and I felt chilly and had use a duvet to keep warm watching TV. I have low blood pressure and therefore, feel the cold. The heating was on timed only and could not be adjusted by ourselves. Also there was no electric or gas fire to give extra heat when needed. We paid an extra £60 for Winter heating costs. We understand it does cost more for fuel in the colder months but when you have paid £60 and still feel cold, this seems unfair. The internet would only work in the kitchen which is where the BT hub is connected. Sadly no internet connection was possible for either of us in the living room or bedroom. As stated above we felt it was a wonderful cottage which would of gained a 10 but due to the lack of warmth and internet access we have decided to give a 8."

"We stayed at Ailnack Cottage for a week in september. The cottage is very complete and homey. The couches are very comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need and is well equiped and there is a nice dining table with chairs to have your meals. The bedrooms are well sized and the beds are comfortable. There are two ramps in the house. One ramp, going up to the bedrooms is a bit tricky (tripped several times over it), but luckily there is a grap rail. The wifi was constant, the tv was very good and as said, the couches were very comfortable. The only thing we did not like that much are all the rules and do's/don'ts. The list seems endless and most of the things on the list are obvious to us. And we missed any garden furniture or a couple of simple chairs so we could have sit outside when the sun was shining. There was a wooden bench outside against the house but it did not look like it could hold a couple of adults. There is ample parking space and the location of the cottage ensures you have beautiful road trips visiting the attractions in the surroundings. All in all we had a nice stay and would recommend this cottage."

"I had a very comfortable weekend stay with my dog. The cottage is just round the corner from the Links seafront and ideal for dog walking and general walking and access to the beach. Also many town food outlets and pub/restaurants in easy walking distance. During my stay I appreciated the quiet location despite being on a main street. The cottage feels like a detached house although "attached" to a property next door on one wall. Well equipped and with good Wi-fi and Blu-ray player a bonus. Lighting could be better in some areas especially the kitchen and lounge. I was comfortable but a large group might find the kitchen seating restrictive for main meals. The patio table at front of house not ideal for main meals. Easy parking on street round the corner - parking right outside only really suitable for loading/unloading due to near blind corner and no pavement. I would stay again and recommend for up to 4 adults or 2 adults/3 kids if eating in. Double bed and bathroom on ground level - stair not good for disabled. Shower room and 2 bright and airy bedrooms upstairs."
