"Unfortunately we did not have consistent hot water running. This is what you need after a long day out with kids. The hoover made more mess The tv was not very user friendly and took time to work and stopped last 2days.The heating was also inconsistent and when we arrived the house was very cold and took quite some time to work out and warm up and with small children it was concerning. Final day we had no heating all night and were very cold. The landlady refused to compensate for any of our hardships endured due to lack of shower water and inconsistent heating. No service on phones so when makin any enquiries or bookings for activities we had to first drive 15minutes in order to get service on phone to make phone calls. Shops were at least 25mins away. For how much money we paid and all we wanted was basic warm water and heating and clean home we were not that fussy but we did not get that. The house was clean on arrival but hoover didn’t work so it got messy after some time. Heating and water did put a downer on the break. We really would’ve liked Chrissy to do more and get professional to fix the problem from day one. Instead she created a leak in the kitchen. Would never stay there again especially as she knew we suffered but refused to compensate for anything."

"Very quaint farm building , one of a group converted to holiday cottages. Although there were highlights such as a comfortable bed, interesting and picturesque surroundings and close proximity to Whitby, the cottage was let down by a rather shabby interior and an excess of unnecessary adornments which although being of interest, became obstructions after a few days. These were mainly the hanging pots and pans over the kitchen table on which heads were regularly bumped! The surrounding farm buildings were of interest and the grounds were very well maintained by the hardworking owner. With a little attention to re-decoration and renewal of some of the chairs and sofas this property would merit another star in its ratings. However that may be a little overcritical and providing the weather is fine, this cottage makes a good base-camp for exploring the North Yorkshire moors and surrounding towns and villages."

"We have just stayed at S37795 for 10 days and could quite happily have extended our holiday. The kitchen, although small, is well kitted out including a washing machine and full sized fridge freezer plus all utensils. The bed was super comfy, plus bedroom had full length mirror and a good amount of hangers in the wardrobe, which is fab. The lounge was quite cosy with lots of lovely finishing touches and a nice little conservatory all gave a homely feel. Our only gripe was the parking! Although it states that there is designated parking for the cottage in the description, this is mostly taken up by customers going to the pub right opposite, or customers parking right outside the kitchen window, which felt quite intrusive. But we would definitely stay here again, as this is not a major issue, but I feel it should be mentioned. As I say, we would absolutely stay at S37795 again and definitely recommend it"

"I am inspired with what the owner family are attempting to do at Brancepeth Castle, part of the restoration funding for which is provided for from S81433 Holiday let. I enjoyed the quiet location, but would have appreciated more access to the castle itself, perhaps a small tour. The cottage itself was thoughtfully and fully equipped, though somewhat shabby with its fixtures and fittings. The bathrooms were very small without shelving for toiletries, and the double bed room also very small, without hanging space for clothes. I enjoyed my time there, though I must say my husband couldn't sleep properly at nights, mostly because the duvets were very heavy weight (in summertime). Yes, I would go again - but my husband wouldn't. It is a charming place attached to a castle reeking in colourful history - but I conclude that it was overpriced for the product."

"We felt at home straight away in this beautifully presented cottage, a lot of care has obviously been taken to create a comfortable and welcoming environment. The property was very clean with nice crockery, toiletries and accessories provided. The owners had also left a welcome pack with cake, milk, jams etc. which was most kind and thoughtful of them. The location was very peaceful and ideal for exploring the East Yorkshire coast and Moors, with the coastal path being just a short walk from the front door. The neighbours were welcoming and friendly and ready to provide local information if required. All together we had a very relaxing and enjoyable week in this beautiful part of the country. Our suggestion for improvement would be to provide an iron, ironing board and hairdryer for use by guests. Thank you for a great time."
