"We have just returned from our fourth stay at the S14119 so it goes without saying that we love it. The LGH is very well equipped for a comfortable stay. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen has everything that you might need and the living room looks out over fields so that you can watch the horses grazing. There is a spacious balcony from where you can sit and watch the abundant wildlife - we saw woodpeckers, buzzards, rabbits, etc. but most impressively a herd of approximately 20 deer which appeared in the fields throughout our stay. The best thing about the LGH is the location. It is situated in a beautiful corner of the new forest and is ideally located for walking and cycling. Fordingbridge, a charming town, is also nearby. Whichever direction you head in you are guaranteed stunning scenery. The owners, Carl and Jo, ensure that you have everything that you will need but otherwise leave you to enjoy your holiday. It is also ideal for dog owners as there is a fenced area of grass which is ideal for them to play.We very much hope to return next year!"

"The cottage was clean and well presented. However the location was remote and so was a drive to amenities and the new forest itself. Unfortunately we found the beds very hard and uncomfortable and as we both suffer from bad backs this affected us throughout the holiday. We did check the mattresses and they are from John lewis and do have mattress toppers. This cottage has a septic tank which means when you flush the toilets or use the water there is noise for about 5 minutes afterwards which is annoying at night time. You share the front of the property with the owners and as the property is on a road with no frontage we felt we had to have all the blinds shut all the time to get some privacy. The television is small but as we were not at the cottage much it didn't cause us a problem. The owner was very pleasant and the cottage has everything you need and everything is in excellent condition."

"This is a lovely cottage. As its name suggests it is small but very thoughtfully laid out and well equipped. In good weather the deck is a spacious extension of the living space , and the fully fenced area of grass a wonderful place for dogs to play in safety. In our case we have a whippet puppy who loved running up and down the hill chasing his toys. There is a fantastic walking area right behind the house which was dog heaven, and an excellent pub with delicious food in the village - 15 minutes walk. The owners obviously care very much about the comfort of their guests and were very welcoming but not intrusive. The wifi didn't work at all when we were there, but I gather that is going to be fixed in the near future. You have to like horses as the property is a livery stables but we loved to see them , and the New Forest is probably not the place for someone who doesn't like horses anyway !"

"S14135 is situated in a beautiful quiet viĺlage with thatched cottages and a community shop. The cottage is furnished to an extremely high standard with everything you could need. The beds are comfortable and the showers are powerful. Although S14135 has a garden it is situated behind the stables therefore younger children would need constant supervision, my daughters 8 and 10 loved that they could go out and play when we returned from our days out. The surrounding area is beautiful and a trip to the Isle of Wight is a must. The only downside we found on the day we arrived was a fly that was in the cottage, not a big deal except it was a horse fly which bit my wrist which then produced an itchy lump for days and would be quite nasty for a child to experience. We bought fly spray and had no problems after that.We would definitely recommend S14135."

"A beautiful little spot, perfect for a weekend get away. We visited on a cold February weekend but enjoyed the cosiness and the log fire. The cottage is fully equipped well thought out. There is a comprehensive book of information about the local area. Large deck out front would be lovely during the warmer months and looks out over farmland with lovely views of the sunset. The area is fairly remote, however big towns with supermarkets are not too far (10 mins drive) and there are plenty of pubs and lovely cafes nearby (walkable) to chose from. Only negative we found was getting our low profile car through the ford you need to cross to get to the property... Just something to be aware of."
