"What a beautiful venue for our annual get together! The layout of the cottage is perfect for socialising - we cooked, drank a little prosecco, gossiped, played games, and danced, making good use of the space and facilities available. As one other reviewer has said, we didn't use the far room quite as much but it is a lovely light space and I think this would come into its own in the summer as it looks out onto the deck/patio. We took an easy walk to the local pub one evening - good food and friendly staff. We ordered our groceries from a local supermarket beforehand and they were delivered shortly after we arrived as arranged. All very easy. We drew straws for the huge master bedroom but all bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely, although the iron bedstead in one room was very creaky making it difficult for two ladies to share! All resolved though by one of the ladies decamping into the single pull out bed from the next room. There are so many places of interest nearby and we particularly enjoyed cycling through the new forest. But most of all we loved staying in! The cottage is stunning and the gardens beautiful (top marks to the gardener!). Small point - it would be nice to have access to the property earlier than 4 pm and as we had a hitch with accessing the house key, exacerbated by lack of phone signal (blame EE for that!), everyone had to wait outside for a further half hour. I'm sure this was a one-off issue though. All in all, we had everything we needed for an amazing long weekend that just wasn't long enough 😊"

"Great location. The weather was a bonus and allowed us to take advantage of the garden and hot tub. However, in my opinion this cottage does not have adequate bedroom and bathroom facilities for 8 people. I booked this cottage as it stated that one bedroom was downstairs as my mother is disabled. This bedroom was extremely small ( a small double with a top bunk) with no room to move around - this was a room for 3 people!!!My husband and myself had to share a room with my granddaughter and my daughter and son in law shared a bed with their 6yr old son. The sleeping arrangement were less than ideal for 6 adults and 2 children. On a couple of occasions mum slept on the sofa!!The bathroom consisted of a small shower room upstairs and a bath with a shower head which was downstairs. Again not ideal for 8 people. We also found the lack of cooking equipment a problem when catering for 8. A lovely quaint and cosy ' chocolate box' cottage but I wouldn't advise it accommodates smh more than 6 people."

"The cottage was genuinely fantastic - roomy, to a very high spec and fantastic for the dogs. The area is very friendly, the shops are a short walk away to provide everything you might need. From a small (excellent) bakery to a family butchers providing great meat for dinner. The garden is a nice size and the hot tub was a lot of fun - there are even plastic glasses in the cupboard for when you head out there - there is literally everything that you might need.I think the real test for a holiday is if you would go back - and the answer would be a definite yes.One note, the WiFi can be patchy but the owner has done all he can to help that. It works but walls in an old cottage are very thick so just move closer to a router and problem solved... plus why did you go to the New Forest if you were going to work or stream media! Put the phone/tablet/laptop down and pour yourself a glass of something nice!"

"My boyfriend found this gorgeous Garden House on cottages for you after looking for a good price on a little cottage away from the hustle & bustle of London where we live. The booking was very easy & the drive was peaceful, it only took us an hour to get to. Upon arrival we realised that we had picked the right place for a quiet, romantic valentines weekend. Debbie the owner really had thought of everything in order to make our weekend a memorable stay. She had very kindly made us lemon drizzle cakes, laid a heart shaped box of chocolates on the bed & also provided us with love crackers. Debbie had even thought of entertainment for her guests & provided a box of CD's, DVDs, board games & books. S14089 is in her gorgeous garden which is landscaped beautifully. If you are looking for a quiet weekend away or for somewhere to stay close to the bars in Portsmouth S14089 is the place to stay. "

"The cottage says it sleeps 8.. 3 bedrooms and the dining table only sits 6 so 'sleeps 8' is really over-egging it. The third bedroom has a bunk bed and is really small. Only good for kids really... me and my boyfriend stayed in the little room as we drew the short straw amongst our friends and I must say the bed was comfy but yeah... small!! The other bedrooms were lovely. The cottage allows dogs so the fabric sofa in the living room stunk of dog (no one wanted to sit on it!) but on the whole the living room was cosy. It has a log fire but you're not allowed to use it due to insurance (boo that!). Hot tub was great. Garden's a great size. Kitchen and diner is really sizeable. My friend couldn't find weighing scales when trying to cook us dinner but on the whole the kitchen seemed well equipped. Great location for the coast or forest walks or wondering round local towns / villages."
