"Very nice maisonette apartment. Ideal central base for our walks up The Old Man of Coniston, the Fairfield Horseshoe and Wansfell Pike. Slightly confused by the lack of hot water initially until following a quick phone call, we established that it wasn't a combination boiler and we had to wait 30 mins for the water to heat-up (having set the water to continuous). There were four of us in the accommodation, and there was plenty of room, although the galley style kitchen would get cramped with more than one person involved in cooking. It was particularly warm in June, and as a result we had the bedroom windows open of an evening. However being a town centre location meant that there was significant traffic noise. The loo in the triple room en-suite didn't always flush. With experience we realised it took significant time for the cistern to fill sufficiently. And the instructions for the Ambleside FC car park were a bit vague, resulting in two parking tickets for the weekend (£25 if paid within 14 days). For reference, on reaching the Miller Road car park, look for an unmade/unpaved track on the right, through an open gate upon which there is a sign that says 'Ambleside FC campsite'. We think that is where we should have parked. Other than that an ideal location to explore the area."

"We have always been to cottages and taken our dog with us, The property owners have Always come to greet us and tell us what was what and that if we needed anything where to find them ,Little beck owners did not do this which was a little awkward when ,if we spoke to anyone not knowing if they were the owner or gardener!!! We found our holiday at little Beck very comfortable , There are just one or two little niggles that didn't make it perfect for us , ..Firstly ,as previously said the owners not introducing themselves, we couldn't loose our dog out anywhere just to stretch his legs , there was no where for us to loose him e.g (enclosed garden ) , with a working farm , there was no way we could have let him loose, so we had no chose but to take him out on a lead , ...Also the lack of up to date literature e.g maps, places to visit, ect ,everything was very out of date . also no view as such , althought once out of the flat it was beautiful ."

"This is the second time we have stayed at S89460 and we have really enjoyed both our stays. The cottage itself is lovely and very well presented. The new bathroom and toilet has made a big difference. All the neccesessities such as tea, coffee, biscuits etc had been left for us and after a mishap with the key the owners were very helpful and popped straight over to help us which was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately since our last stay the local village shop has closed so the only thing i would mention is that it is about 3 miles to the nearest shop in hawkshead but if you plan in advance it certainly isnt a deal breaker. The cottage is in a great location in a quiet part of the lake district with lots of great walks nearby. We ate at both the local pubs the cuckoo brow and the tower bank arms which were both excellent. We will most certainly be visiting again."

"Overall the property was good and the location was perfect because we wanted somewhere close to Keswick town, and the parking space was a bonus, because the street is quite narrow. The property was well furnished and clean, appreciated soap in all the bathrooms and the bed linen was good quality, it would have been nice, however to have towels provided (tea towels were), as this was extra to bring with us. Also a welcome pack would have been appreciated too. The house is a little small, especially downstairs for 4 adults and don't think it would be suitable for 6 adults, as space was tight. The bathrooms were excellent, although the bath in the main bathroom was difficult to get out of when using the shower. We possibly would stay here again if in the area, but would probably want something a little bigger."

"We had a really great holiday at Little Beck. The cottage is clean and has everything you need for a relaxing break. Cleaning and everyday items were provided so you don't have to take lots with you. The bed is lovely and big and very comfy. We didn't feel the lighting in the cottage was a problem ( there are lots of lamps now so they might have added some to make the lighting brighter). Having the garden was handy but it is over the little road that goes to part of the campsite. Even though we were there the first week of the summer holidays it didn't bother us in any way and it was handy having the little shop at the campsite for provisions. There was some information about what to see in the area but I felt there could have been a bit more of this as well as some information on place to eat in the area."
