What our customers are saying about our Half Term Cottages In Earl Sterndale To Rent.

"Although the cottage is very clean and spacious, it is in definite need of upgrade. The shower (wet) room is very old and unappealing and the en suite bathroom upstairs lacks a shower cubicle or even a shower spray over the bath. With six women staying and no working locks on either of the bathroom doors, there were privacy issues. There were some things missing or broken, like the grill in the oven and there was no ceiling light shade in the shower room, which we felt was potentially dangerous in a wet environment. We did leave a note about these issues for the owners. It is a working farm in a rural area, so very quiet and peaceful, but make sure you take a fly spray as not surprisingly with livestock, there were loads."

"Rands Retreat is in an excellent location for exploring the area. It is central for exploring Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds and Ely. The cottage facilities in some respects are excellent but we would suggest a number of small improvements, which we normally find at other holiday cottages.A block of sharp knives, a bread bin, a upright drainer for washing plates and rubbish bins in each room. Not everyone uses a shower, preferring a bath, in this case it would be useful to have a shower connected to the bath taps for washing your hair. This does not detract from an excellent holiday cottage with attentive hosts living next door. I would recommend improving the quality of the towels which saw fluffiness some time ago."

"The cottage has huge potential but needs a lot of refurbishment to get it up to standard. Beds were clean but uncomfortable. There were only 6 usable dining chairs as 3 were dangerously broken. The lead to the dvd player was missing . There was mould and peeling paint in the bathrooms. The upstairs windows were dirty and ill fitting. The carpet was soiled. The cottage backs onto the farmyard of a beef farm with an open cattle shed directly behind the property so inevitably there were flies. There were holes in the plaster and unrepaired cracks. The location is great for Duxford, Wimpole Hall and Cambridge . There was plenty of kitchen equipment and constant hot water."

"Netherall Manor Lodge is one of those gems one rarely comes across – a comfortable bolthole set in the most remarkable and (as it transpired) historically significant gardens in England. The Manor’s present owner is a true English gent – remarkably well informed and hugely knowledgeable about the area. These few facts alone merit admission to this very reasonably priced home from home. And finally, we’re looking forward to our third visit in the not too distant future! Already missing Willow - the Manor’s very friendly and quietly inquisitive dog. Keep up the good work!"

"A fabulous cottage, in a fantastic location. All the major local attractions, like National Trust properties and museums were easy to drive to, and Wicken Fen was within walking distance. It was equipped with everything you could possibly need, and was really spacious. It definitely had the wow factor. The owners went out of their way to help in anyway they could, even providing a computer lead so we could hook our laptop up to the TV! And our 8 year old daughter absolutely loved using their trampoline! Definitely one of the best cottages we’ve stayed booked so far."
