"I booked this last minute and was really pleased with the cost for 3 nights, for 3 bedrooms, commencing New Years Eve. Because of the location, I was expecting a noisy first evening and that was fine, bearing in mind that it is situated with a great pub at the end of the lane one way and opposite the Working Men's Club! The second night was much quieter. The location is great, just a few steps to the harbour, shops, pubs etc., but although not far from the Sunny Corner car park, it is far enough if you have a lot of luggage and of course, when self catering, you do tend to have food and drink as well. The car park cost needs to be thought about as well - I think the harbour parking is cheaper and closer, but I don't know if you can book. S42431 does need a bit of TLC, particularly in the kitchen and the mattress on the bed on the first floor is quite uncomfortable, although our friends said that theirs was okay. Overall, I would consider staying again and really enjoyed it, even though it didn't stop raining!! If you are looking for somewhere posh then give this a miss, otherwise take ear plugs and enjoy!"

"Had a wonderful weekend at S15927 to celebrate husband and son's birthdays. There were 6 adults and a 3 year old. The house is lovely, comfortable, roomy and well equipped - in fact there is everything there. Some lovely touches from the owner, cakes and wine for us on arrival were delicious. Grandsons bedroom had cuddly toys on the pillows, which he loved. Our three year old grandson loved playing I the garden which was very safe. There is also a good playground close by which he enjoyed. The location for Stratford is good with a bus stop a few yards a way. River walk just across the road. Spar is just across the road, as is the pub. We ate at the pub on Friday and had good meals. Returned on Sunday for lunch and we were all disappointed - the meat was fatty and vegetables raw so it is a bit hit and miss.Would I recommend the house - most definitely. None of us wanted to leave it."

"We had a fantastic holiday, (and were very lucky to have had glorious weather). What absolutely made it for my parents-in-law, was being able to step outside the front door and be just a stones throw away from the harbour, with its bobbing multi-coloured little boats. (Even before we all sat down for breakfast, they had been out to explore the latest happenings, both around and on the water!). And of course we were perfectly placed to pop into all the small shops of interest along the cobblestone lanes. In S42431, we ate on the ground floor, relaxed and watched films upstairs in the lounge and slept on the second floor. (Because of their age, my in-laws would have benefitted from a handrail for using the shower over the bath, but no problems for the two younger generations!). We very much enjoyed our stay in Mevagissey!"

"Just a few words. From the property description we took it there was off road parking in a drive. We always insist on this. It was not so at S13939. Parking was in a very narrow unmade road. No turning, meaning you had to back up at least 50 feet into a busy road. Where you parked was very difficult; old tree stumps, steep, dangerous slope when you got out the car. Might be room for one car, not two. Worse of all there was an obvious and long running dispute with all the neighbours over parking. Very unpleasant situation. Also when we arrived the TV did not work. Had to get an engineer to fix. Took him 40 minutes to retune the Sky box. Should have been checked prior to our arrival. Outside of property in much need of repair, inside very little character, very bland."

"A great quiet hideaway. A truly wonderful welcome hamper and a fresh cream and strawberry cake. Bird life was very good. Walking was beautiful of course and we spent far less time driving that usual. Local pub has recently been taken over and is being refurbished, food was very good although the ever expanding menu is limited at present. Staff were very attentive. Cottage was very cosy with wood-burner’s and central heating (we needed it). The Beck which rose and fell more often than the tide was fascinating to those of us not used to limestone country. Stock up well on food and fuel before you arrive as the nearest is 10 miles away in any direction. We all had a wonderful time. Next time we will go in the summer. July 2012. "
