"The best feature of this house is it being completely detached and private with glorious views of the distant Snowdonia mountains. The large wood-burning fireplace dominates the living room, not a pleasant feature really, unless lit. The weather did warrant it at times, but the supplied lighter needed batteries and with just 3 logs, not really enough to bother with. The background heating was welcome for the mornings, with the use of an additional portable radiator. The window in the bathroom was impossible to close and let in a lot of cold air which had to be combated with having the fan-heater on quite a bit. We are not ones to watch TV very much, but saw no point in having a large flat-screen TV when there's no signal and no advice given about it in the guests' folder. Had someone called initially it could have perhaps been explained, but with a broken Sky changer and 2 others relevant to the make of TV, we considered it would have been better not to provide a TV set. Why have it listed in the cottage details? To be marooned indoors in inclement weather is a little miserable with the rather strange design of fairly elderly upholstered chairs, all (including the sofa) with no head-support.The cooking facility is good, with excellent-quality saucepans necessary for the ceramic hob and thankfully a spacious fridge-freezer. There is little space though in the kitchen area, the microwave having to be sited across the draining board. The separate work-bench for food preparation is a boon though. The outside space for children is good, and the weather-proof picnic table on the lawn, comfortable chairs are needed really though, as mentioned in a few visitors' comments as otherwise take the wooden chairs outside with a cushion- not ideal. The use of the Leisure Club was a real bonus, we all loved going nearly every day. We did have a walk each day, from the door and also one from a nearby village, also another in the Snowdon range."

"Wow! Absolutely loved this cottage from the minute we stepped foot inside. Met the owners as we arrived and they gave us all the information we needed along with the helpful books with instructions and information for everything. We arrived just in time for the Pennal show weekend, and the village could not have been more welcoming. Machynlleth is only a very short drive to the shops and Aberdovey only a bit longer to reach the lovely beach. We also visited Aberystwyth and Barmouth and checked out the awesome Mach loop! Corrie craft centre is also worth a visit. The kids really enjoyed the games room in the evenings and the dogs loved the long walks up the hills and along the river. But the best thing is sitting in the garden and looking at the stunning scenery. Worth every penny! If you are looking for somewhere more metropolitan then Pennal then this not for you. If you are looking for a comfortable and well equipped cottage with stunning views of Snowdonia National Park, I cannot recommend S84270l highly enough."

"Fantastic cottage in a brilliant location, with high views looking out across the harbor and bay. There are narrow lanes leading to the cottage, so travel with care, but if you are after a peaceful and tranquil location, then look no further. Aside from a footpath running parallel to the cottage (we saw the odd person using it), there is no one else around to bother you. The town is a 15 minute walk downhill, where there is a small local shop and several eateries (we can recommend The Dovey Inn). The beach is large with ample parking. We were there just outside of the Welsh Easter holidays so it was fairly quiet, I suspect in full holiday season it would be very busy. The cottage is expensive for what it is, but relaxing in the hotub on an evening staring out over the coastline - well, it was worth every penny!"

"We’ve not been away for Christmas before, however everyone very much enjoyed the holiday at this beautiful barn, which benefited from a front view of the snow peaked mountains and a rear view of a mountain stream within yards of the barn. The log burner was the highlight of our holiday..making our accommodation cosy, relaxing and visually pleasing. Furthermore, no bottles of Evian drinking water was needed here, as the refreshing tap water tasted wonderful! In terms of entertainment, the kids always opted for the extensive range of board games over and above their iPad, iPhone and Xbox devices!! Trips to Barmouth, Harlech and Portmeirion added to the enjoyment of this memorable holiday. Thank you for an amazing holiday experience! "

"Fantastic for our needs; wanted a centrally located place to explore from with 2 nine year olds and an eleven year old. Loads of activities a short car journey (less than an hour) away. Climbed Snowdon, fishing, paddling in river, Fforest park, kayaking on lake Bala to name but a few. The house was great, well equipped, comfortable, clean and plenty of room (mind your head on the beams if you are in the upstairs bedroom!). Owners very nice and we appreciated the small gifts on arrival. Bala has pretty much everything you need - pubs, curry house, co-op etc. Local pub is a short walk and apparently does good food, although we did not eat there. A keeper for me and I hope to return in the future on a similar type of holiday!"
