"We enjoyed a two week stay in Gylly beach view in the summer of 2018 with our three teenage children.First the positives -An amazing location - you really couldn’t beat it. The views from all of the sea facing rooms were spectacular! There was always something interesting to see from the balcony - beach life, sea life and park life! Also only a 15/20min walk to the town and its multitude of shops, bars and restaurants. We would recommend The Ranch steakhouse and The Chain Locker in particular for good service and excellent food. Also only short 10 min walk to the next bay along, Swanpool, and its amazing ice creams! The apartment is very well equipped with high-end fixtures and fittings, very spacious, plenty of room for a family to spread out and have their own space but also to come together for a family meal or card game around the large dining table. Lovely comfy sofas to lounge about on - the backs of the sofas lift up for comfort! We encountered a few issues when we arrived but these were sorted out quickly after an email to the owner - speedy service! This is a great place to stay and I would recommend it, however there are a few minor niggles that we discovered as we stayed so I’ll list them here to make others aware (or possibly for the owner to act upon?)Mid stay clean? We stayed for two weeks and I was disappointed that we didn’t have a mid-stay clean on our middle weekend. I would have, at least, expected towels and bedding to be changed halfway through a two week stay as we have enjoyed this everywhere else we have stayed in at least the last 10 years or so. Not sure whether this was an oversight (our welcome pack and towels were missing when we arrived but turned up the next day when we enquired) or if this is standard - we ended up having to wash our own towels once we realised clean ones weren’t arriving. The WiFi - when we arrived, it wasn’t working at all, however after an email we had an engineer visit to try and sort out the problem. He did manage to get it working on SOME devices but not on all and it was very slow - just be aware it is not a quick connection. We were told this was an issue with the apartment block as a whole. The tv/Sky/dvd player - this is supposed to work throughout the three televisions in the apartment via some sort of hub in the kitchen cupboard. However (because of the WiFi problems? We weren’t sure) the sky and dvd only ever worked on the main tv in the lounge and the sky wasn’t connected to the internet so Sky+ functions were disabled. On the tv in the small living room and the upstairs bedroom you could only get freeview. Also you could only operate sky if you opened the kitchen cupboard and aimed the remote at it while trying to look at the tv too - very frustrating! The kitchen worktops - the glass on top of the work surfaces moved around and had trapped dirt and debris underneath - it always looked dirty even when cleaned! I think it need removing completely or at least sealing so dirt/water can’t get underneath. The dishwasher - the dishwasher didn’t clean things properly - even after topping up the rinse aid etc it still left ‘bits’ on all the crockery meaning we had to wash them up by hand. Also the bottom rack seems to be missing a couple of wheels meaning it tipped off its tracks every time you pulled it out. This sounds like a lot of negatives - but I must stress these did not spoil the beauty and comfort of the apartment and the fantastic location - it is just that I feel these simple issues could easily be sorted out and, for the price paid, I would not have expected to encounter them."

"S75463 is a beautiful and comfortable property, spacious and very well equipped and appointed. Very nice touches, like toiletries, dressing gowns, slippers, and a nice food parcel including bottles of prosecco and beer. Naomi (the owner) visited the evening we arrived and was quick to address a couple of minor issues such as light bulbs not working and the washing machine door which had been broken by the previous tenants (it was already booked for repair, and indeed was repaired the day after we arrived). I only have a couple of minor niggles; one was a lack of storage in some of the bedrooms (eg. no drawer space) which seemed odd given that the rooms were all easily large enough to accommodate a chest of drawers! Also, in the kitchen, the crockery/glass/cutlery supply was more than ample, but we did note a lack of large pans, which was strange given that the house sleeps 16. The largest saucepan was only just big enough for one packet of pasta. There was a large heavy wok and some Le Creuset cookware but none of this could be used on the induction hob, only the Aga, and it was very heavy to lift. Minor issues though - it's a lovely property and I'm sure anyone holidaying there will have a great week!We visited the nearby pub (Lydd Arms) a couple of times including once for dinner. They were very friendly, although because we were such a big group we had to pre-order our food 1-2 days which took a bit of organisation."

"Lovely cottage in a fantastic location but lacking in attention to detail and cleanliness.Kitchen missing basic items ie no small tumblers for whiskey/water, no chopping boards other than a bread board, had 4 cups but only 1 saucer , only 5 egg cups so had to improvise and use an egg box! All easily sorted but very annoying.Lounge area was comfortable but tv a nightmare due to poor signal and ineffective controllers. No towels provided for downstairs toilet/bathroom.Cleaning standards leaved a lot to be desired ie filthy plugs, a loo brush that was fit for the bin and crisps and crumbs under cushions on one of the sofas which we discovered when we went to re zip a cushion to the back of the sofa as it had been left upside down!!Would not recommend to anyone with back problems as shower had no shelf for soap/shampoo etc so everything had to be left on the floor and there was a similar problem in the bathroom as the sides of the bath were curved and consequently no where to stand anything. Also, unable to contact the caretaker on 3 separate occasions and ended up speaking to the owner, who was delightful.Such a shame as it is a lovely property and despite all the criticism we would be tempted to return but would have to be sure that these issues had all been addressed."

"As soon as we walked in to S17255 we were amazed by how spacious and homely it felt. The living room is huge and has a large open fire. The kitchen is well equipped with a range cooker, large fridge and a freezer with a microwave as well. There is a large dining room with a table that seats 10; this room also has a working open fire. The downstairs bathroom has a shower and a washing machine. There is a lovely conservatory that looks out into a large garden. Through the doors it leads to the annexe which has a twin room and en-suite bathroom with a very good shower. Upstairs there is a very large family bathroom and one en-suite bedroom and two other good sized bedrooms one had a double and a single bed and the other was a twin room. We went for Christmas so it was cold but there was a heater that gave out a lot of heat. We took two young children as well as a baby with us and the fact that there was so much room was really good for when someone wanted time out in a quiet space! It is an amazing place to stay with a group of family or friends."

"We had a great time staying here - the house itself was lovely but we had an issue with the heating and hot water because a gas delivery hadn't arrived. Had this not been the case we would have scored this a 10 overall. The owner was fantastic and did everything they could to get us hot water, even to the extent of buying us extra kettles so we could give the toddlers their baths a bit easier (instead of boiling water in the kitchen and running it upstairs). They gave us extra wood for the fires as well and it really did feel like they did everything they possibly could to sort the issue. We intend to go back to either this house or one of the owner's other houses though as they were lovely, large and very well equipped. There is also a pool table and table football in the courtyard which I think is missing from the description on this site and probably should be added in!"
