"Wonderful quiet spot, simple smart lodgings with hospitable very helpful landlords family living next door in the converted old farmhouse.Wonderful scenes over the next by Dunkeswell civil Airfield. Glorious spot of quiet for autumnal mists and brightness .Only very minor feedback ideas to give to landlords in due course. Nothing of any real complaint at all. Def would book ...have! booked again. Only point for some light be that the lodge does not get so much sunlight coming into it, as others might...but one can get out into the spacious bright airy scenes Airfield area next door, ...There is however as my review number rating suggested a 45 minute walk to the nearest shop ..though one of the big supermarkets delivered happily to the lodge, no worry. ..and half an hour to bus stop, good enough service to Honiton or Taunton. And no footpaths around the lodge. But its goodness for me, is in its quiet remoteness, from roads and settlements.. ...very quiet spot bar the puttering of little aircraft taking off and landing from the Airfield ."

"It's been a few weeks since we spent our Easter holiday at S18995, and I've been meaning to find the time to write a few words about our experience. The cottage was a great base to explore the area. We live in Hull, so Devon and Cornwall are quite a long drive away. We easily visited places of interest local to the cottage and farther afield. For all intents and purposes the cottage is a new build within an existing barn structure, which is great. Everything being like a new home, but with the charm of an old building. That said the barn has been converted to a very high standard, and being from a construction background, I spent a lot of time admiring the quality of the joinery. The cottage had everything we could possibly need, and the welcome pack left by the owners was a very nice touch.Whilst the cottage is in a very rural landscape, within ten minutes you're in the centre of Bideford with all the shops and facilities you could possibly need. All in all we had a great time, and we would highly recommend a holiday there."

"I'm going to start with the one and only negative - Before going we received a lengthy email from the owner - lots of do's and don't (also some good info) - this did scare us a little and made us feel on edge coming and what to expect. I'm not sure of the owner had people come before who didn't respect his property but my only feedback on this would be to calm down on the email and perhaps just keep it to the guest book. Once we got there all the concerns we did have went away. This is a beautiful place and very spacious. We love the old country fibe the house had and the views are beautiful. The house is very well equipped, there wasn't one thing missing. We love that each room had their own ensuites and the towels provided were very good quality. The bunk bed did wobble a little, so that might need to be looked at, also the Wi-Fi was good to have - although wasn't great depending where you were. Overall, we would love to come and stay again."

"Perfect for large groups, well equipped with everything you need, comfortable, loads of space for everyone over the 4 levels, youngest at the top as the stairs are narrow but totally climbable and adventureous for kids, tv’s in all the rooms great for kids too and there is a bathroom and shower on the top floor so you don’t have to use the stairs in the night. We were two family groups including children and grandparents, and we never once felt crowded. The garden isn’t large but secure and big enough to bbq with a large outdoor seating area. You don’t need a large garden with all that beach on the doorstep anyway. Four walkable pubs of which a couple do takeaways and a hotel restaurant, Johns cafe and shop have everything you need. Welcoming from the start with the wine and scones, lots to do in the area or within short drives, a great place to stay and would recommend it totally."

"This was a lovely property, perfect for an out of season escape. Right on the Tarka trail you had unlimited walking and cycling right on your doorstep. It is large and detached and perfect for two people who want peace and quiet, with a bit of home comfort. I appreciated the hairdryer as I forgot my own. It’s a short walk to Bideford along the trail and the beautiful beach at Westward Ho! just 15 minutes drive. My only niggle was that the kitchen equipment was sparse and poor quality as is often the case with rental properties. If you want a fire the night you arrive bring your own kindling as they only provided three chunky logs and a couple of fire lighters which wasn’t enough to get the fire going. Also if you have fire gauntlets I’d bring them as I really missed mine! All in all a super break, with amazing weather in October."
