"Wonderful holiday with husband and mother-in-law for a week in June. Weather was absolutely fantastic (for once) and we had sunshine every day without a drop of rain, unbelievable! The cottage was first rate and it is the second time we have stayed there so we knew what to expect this time. Lots of space to relax in, fantastic views from most of the rooms, love the sun lounge, wish we'd had more time to sit and enjoy the views, but the weather was so good we had to take advantage of the great outdoors! Love the area, been many times and never get tired of it. Coastline on both sides of Sleat is scenic, great sunsets to be seen on the west coast at Tarskavaig and Tokavaig, looking across to the small isles. Broadford is about 8 miles north and has a great Co-op which stocks pretty well all you need. Loved the new Community Centre at the top of the hill on the main road which is new to us. Great café there for coffee and light bites and super views out from full length windows. Useful exhibition space and post office and shop attached for essentials. The Eilean Iarmain Hotel and it's neighbour the An Prabam Bar are good for food being very handy for the cottage. The gardens at Armadale Castle and Gardens are delightful to wander around, very peaceful and colourful and there is now a nice café there, run by the same people who own Deli Gastia in Broadford. I could go on....."

"We were a party of five which fitted the bedrooms ideally, with two doubel and one single. Each bedroom had its own en-suite so no queueing for the bathroom in a morning. The house was extremely well equipped throughout. There was an open fire in the siitting room, though we had no need to use as the weather was very kind to us, there was also enough comfortable seating for us all. The kitchen had everything you could expect to need and more, including a tagine, and a cheese fondue, again we never used these items. Kyleakin is a small place and the house is ideally located for touring Skye or driivng to walks. There are a couple of pubs/restaurants within 5 minutes walk of the house, Saucy marys and King Kaakum, also a very good indian restaurant a short drive away. The owners live in the other half of the semi, and were helpful whenever we had a question. We will certainly try and visit again."

"Our stay at S22757 was very enjoyable - the bungalow was extremely comfortable - good beds, fantastic power showers, spotless well equipped kitchen. On arrival was worried about the caravan/campsite next door - however we had no excess noise and the view was wonderful - porpoise in the loch on two mornings!. Very good position for mainland - Glen Elg Brochs - saw pine martin in the daytime! Easy to pop over to Isle of Skye. Recommend Plockton Shores restaurant - wonderful food - booking essential. Also recommend AquaXplore boat trip to Canna out of Elgol on Skye - very professional set-up - dolphins and sea eagle sightings were fantastic. All in all a great holiday in a very comfortable property. Remember to pack the Avon "Skin so Soft" as the Scottish Midge takes no prisoners - it really does work! June 2012."

"South Bay is an easy ten out of ten for me. The house is big with plenty of room to spread out and is well equipped. Every window you look out of has a fabulous view of the Kyle. It’s the lovely location that makes the cottage so special and is best enjoyed from the comfort of the “Otter” bar. The cottage is only a short drive from various places to eat and the COOP store in Broadford is only 15 minutes away and has everything you might need. The Isle of Skye is beautiful no matter which direction you travel in. Howard the owner was staying at his other cottage Maccinisfree and invited us over for a cuppa on our last day. Howard genuinely wants all his guests to enjoy their stay and showed us around the cottage which I’m sure we will be booking in the future."

"Southbay Cottage was a clean and comfortable place with an otter motif that brought a smile to our faces. The kitchen worked well and was well-equipped. The bed was comfortable, the linens high quality and the shower was good. The otter bar upstairs was the perfect place to enjoy a wee dram and play the wonderful music collection while playing Scrabble. The views were superb from every window, but especially from the otter bar and the breakfast bar adjacent to the kitchen. The video system was nice and we appreciated the WiFi. The Armadale Castle and new distillery were wonderful activities, and the Aird of Sleat walk was dramatic. A wonderful week!"
