"S22579looked fabulous on the website, and in person it was even better. I took my two teenage foster sons, their friend and my parents for a week away, and the house was comfortably spacious for all of us to feel like it was home for a week, rather than being under each others feet in a pokey little log cabin. My parents took one double bedroom, I had the other double bedroom, two of my lads shared a twin room, and my other lad had the second twin room to himself. Bathroom facilities were split up, and the lads had a bathroom, my parents wanted the shower room, and I had the en suite. In the living room there is a big dining table that seated us all very comfortably. The living area was also very spacious, with enough room for me to work (I own my own business so had to), my parents had enough room to read their books and the three lads had enough room to play cards, or some of the selection of board games that were at the cottage. There is also a flat screen TV at the cottage, but we made use of that once. There is no WIFI in the cottage, which is a downside for me, as I needed to still connect to work, but it was also a plus as the three teenage lads had to go “old school” from an entertainment point of view such as cards and board games. Thankfully no mind numbing social media for them, and I managed to get a good enough mobile signal to use my tethering hotspot. Personally I would keep the cottage without WIFI so it was good for everyone to take a break from the internet and social media accounts. The kitchen is a good size with all pots, pans, cutlery and crockery that you would need. There is also a very handy utility room that we used to dry our hiking gear in. S22579is also located in a large amount of grounds, with plenty of parking, and plenty of grassed space, which even though it rained, we still managed one or two games of football.S22579is located opposite the start of the hike to the Pap of Glencoe, the pub is not far down the road, and the village is about a ten minute walk away. There is everything that you could need.In all everyone in our party enjoyed their week away, and we were sad when we had to leave. It is a place where we would certainly return to again."

"We had a lovely stay at S22591, it’s a well laid out property with the living room, kitchen upstairs. Even though it was a rainy week over new year we were very cosy and there is a very good selection of board games. Our little boy really enjoyed the tv area and there was a good selection of kids dvds. The caretaker lives close in a property next to the house, they were very unobtrusive, and it was nice to know they were close by if needed. Kitchen was well equipped with everything, dishwashers tablets, detergent, foil, cling film, kitchen roll was provided. Washer/ dryer downstairs, no washing detergent supplied so remember to take some if needed and only a toilet roll in each loo, so remember to bring extra. It’s a bit stark in the winter, but lovely to see snow capped mountains, bet it’s lovely when everything greens up. You can’t see loch Leven from the property, but you can get to it from a path that runs along the back of the property- just 5 minutes walk, but quite muddy when we stayed. There is also a nice walk from the property, on the way to kinlochleven , via a logging trail that takes you to a good viewpoint of Glencoe from above. Now for the best bit - the pinemartens that visit the decking for their supper. We left them food every night, but only managed to see them on the last two nights, around 8pm and 10-11pm - absolutely magical, they didn’t seem to mind the decking light on when they visited. They come up the staircase spindles. Lots of birds visit, so take some birdseed. We would love to visit again, the only downside is no WiFi, we do rely on it for planning our days out etc. If there is anyway you could include it, even at an additional charge it would be worth it."

"Whilst the weather was typically Scottish, the house and the location were superb. As it is designed as a family house, rather than as a rental property, the attention to detail is very good. The conservatory is excellent and the underfloor heating in there and in many parts of the house make it very cosy underfoot and keep the general temperature at a pleasant level. The garden is fascinating to explore, and with access onto the hills behind the house, it is very convenient. Apparently you can get to the Holly Tree hotel along the cycle way on the hill, although did not do this ourselves. I would NOT recommend walking along the road as traffic is sometimes heavy and fast. The road is quite busy and a bit noisy despite double glazing downstairs, but only during the day.The garden is ideal for eating out and relaxing, with tables and benches and raised lookouts, when the weather is good, but not so much in October! The 'Welcome Pack' received in the post prior to arrival was a nice touch, and very informative. The only downside was the beds and attendant duvets. All the beds are singles and the duvets only just cover them, so we regularly woke up to find they had slipped partly off. At least one double bed would be appreciated somewhere in the house.Overall, however, it is a great house, in a great location and no neighbours. Thoroughly recommend it for any size group.."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bidean Lodge. The cottage was warm and clean on our arrival. It contained all we needed for a weeks self catering. Our son has food allergies so it is important to us to be able to do all of our own cooking. The kitchen was well equipped with all pots and pans needed to cook for a family all week. The cooker worked well for us but the catch on the oven door was a little awkward. The local village shop in Glencoe was well stocked as was the Co-op in Ballachulish, just a mile or two from the cottage. All conveniently close by. The cottage is situated in an idyllic location with super views of the mountains from all the windows. To access the walk to the Pap of Glencoe and all the forest walks, just walk across the road from the cottage! There are many walks directly from the front door. A wonderful place to stay. Thankyou."

"This should not be advertised as a cottage. It is a B&B. Not suited for a family stay of a week. The cottage is in need of renovation: oven and microwave were broken; windows in several rooms not properly closing/opening because locks were broken; shower in 1 room flooding; shower door in another room broken; no possibility to sit outside in the garden; self-closing doors in each room very inconvenient/dangerous, especially with children; kitchen door could not be left open since fire alarm went off when cooking; too big a table in the kitchen. We were a group of 9 and when everybody was in the kitchen for breakfast or diner you couldn't move in the kitchen; no table in the living room to use;... As said, this is a B&B perfect to stay in for a night when travelling around, not suited to stay in for longer. The description is not matching the reality."
