"We absolutely loved our stay at S5339, it far exceeded our expectations. The cottage was beautifully and sympathetically renovated with loads of character, and we found it comfortable, roomy and really well equipped. We cooked a full roast dinner one afternoon and found everything we could possibly want in the kitchen. The dishwasher came in handy for the cleanup too! We were delighted to find a bottle of wine and some delicious home baked muffins on a tea tray on our arrival - such a lovely welcoming touch and it made us feel like wanted guests rather than merely paying customers. Our pup was also well catered for with dog biscuits on arrival, as well as bowls and some folded towels by the bowls to dry him off. There was wood for the fire, which we took advantage of in the evenings, and best of all was the loveliest peace and quiet at the end of the lane with a fantastic view across to a craggy hill, with sheep grazing by the slate fence. The enclosed garden was wonderful for our pup to run around in safely (and away from the sheep!), and we sat and drank coffee and tea in the morning sunshine at the garden table. We just loved everything about it! Our stay was filled with long walks, beach strolls, long lazy baths and great food, and the cottage was a fantastic base to return to in the evenings where we felt comfortable and relaxed. S5339 was perfectly placed for all the things we wanted to do on our trip, visits to Beddgelert - to walk the Cwm Bychan and Aberglaslyn Pass Walk, visit Gelerts grave, have some lunch and do some shopping- a trip to Porthmadog to stock up on groceries on the way to the beach, a visit to Inigo Jones Slateworks, the lovely dog friendly beach at Cricceth and lunch of the best fish and chips ever, washed down with lovely Welsh Ale, at Moorings Bistro in Porth-y-Guest. We were quite curious about the Chapel itself, which we had read about in the folder left on the coffee table and packed with information about the area and the property. We had the luck to meet Sarah at the end of our stay as we were leaving - she was just lovely and offered to satisfy our curiosity and show us inside the Chapel. Her passion for renovating the property and for the area shone through in our conversation, and their vision for the chapel renovation sounds amazing, we can't wait to see it finished! We have already decided we want to come back in winter and stay at the cottage in the snow. Everything was perfect for us and Sarah so welcoming and friendly that we will definetely be back to stay on our next visit to Wales."

"This beautifully decorated 16th century cottage is set in the most tranquil setting in the Cwmystrallyn countryside. The cottage adjoins the owners property but with several feet of stone wall separating you the only noise you can hear is birdsong, and if you are very lucky an owl at night. The lounge is very spacious and incorporates dining table and chairs. The kitchen is well stocked with good quality equipment and everything you need to enjoy your break there. There is no oven but there are full simple instructions booklet for the convection/microwave there and we cooked a roast dinner successfully and used it frequently, so please don't let it put you off. The hob heats up really quickly and we have had a few cooked breakfasts during our stay! The bathroom was adequate and yes it is a wet room as such, but soon dries out, with a little ventilation. We sat outside where bistro table and chairs provided, and just enjoyed the lovely weather and a well earned drink, all in a totally private and peaceful garden. The upstairs again is very spacious, providing you with a comfortable bed and all the storage needed to enjoy your stay. Yes the stairs are steep but you do have solid supports to help you up the stairs. Throughout the property there are rustic beams which enhance your stay at this beautiful quaint cottage. So basically, if you are wanting to away from it all for a while, why not give it a go? We have come back feeling very refreshed. Thanks to the owners for giving so much detailed thought to the set up of this gem."

"Wonderfully peaceful and tranquil location, which was exactly what me and my wife were looking for. This cottage was excellent for our dog as he had free reign of the garden, and an adjoining wooded area with the beach only 4 miles away. The owner was very accommodating and just left us to it, which helped settle us in. The town of Porthmadog was close enough to drive to and back without the takeaway food getting cold, and other tourist locations such as Betws Y Coed and Caernarfon castle were reasonably close. The accommodation was clean and cosy, the stairs was tricky but this is well advertised and added a quaint twist (literally). Everything is provided, however remember to bring towels And stop at a shop on route for tea bags milk and coffee if you require a brew after your journey. There is no WiFi, and the Mobile signal is sketchy inside but fine out in the garden and by the door. All in all this is a very dog friendly and tranquil location excellent for a rural retreat, and we will be definitely coming back."

"We arrived on sat 1st August and were very impressed with the cottage, the size of the rooms didn't disappoint with plenty of room for us and our puppy. although small, the kitchen was well equipped with plenty of good quality utensils pots pans etc however the down side was no oven there was a 2 ring hob and a convection microwave but having not used a microwave for years it was a struggle ,the shower room was of a good size ,the huge attic bedroom was accessed but a spiral staircase ,very quaint ! but with deep steps which on occasion were not easy to negotiate ,we had a lovely stay and enjoyed our trips out the only criticism was the cooker and the amount of over grown trees and bushes around the property which would benefit from being cut back ,if you are staying here we would recommend a visit to Black Rock Sands beach it was fab ,but hard to find, not very well sign posted ,but follow the signs for the golf club in town and its not far past that ,amazing for walking or just chilling"
