"My husband and I loved our stay. The Barn was beautiful and we couldn't help but commend Nev for his workmanship and as a couple you can see Kate's hand in everything too.Their attention to detail was fantastic, couldn't fault anything. The welcome hamper was 5* way above what is expected so a big thank you to Kate for that too. I usually take lots of extras (bits & bobs) that I always need/want on holiday, but each time I opened cupboards or draws, I would exclaim to my hubby "I don't believe it, there's one here!" Very Victor Meldrew. But it shows how Kate's gone to the nth degree to make sure you have all you need. We adored the area, had a lovely walk through the fields with Kate & her son Oscar and were so thrilled when his hand reared lamb saw him and ran over to play. Bliss! The area is outstanding and we visited lots of places and pub restaurants for meals. The icing on the cake for both of us was, the history of the farm, Len Wards Book and DVD is heart rending and so worthwhile reading/watching, it was an unexpected highlight of our holiday as well as Kate & Nevs own pictorial record of the rebuilding of the Barn. I really, don't know how they do it all! A lovely family and very talented with Lottie making little things out of the fleeces from their sheep. I know lots of people say they "arrived as strangers but left as friends" in our case that is so very true, we are hoping for another holiday there in he next few weeks but, I'm guessing the Barn will be fully booked, but hope not, if so, there's always next year. Many, many thanks for a fab holiday."

"We had a lovely restful stay at S58124. The barn conversion has been lovingly completed by the owners to a very high standard and has absolutely everything you could need for an extremely comfortable stay, the photos on the website really don't do it justice. The kitchen has everything from a peeler to a rolling pin you have all the equipment to cook a banquet! The owners Kate and Nev have thought of everything from OS maps to literature on places to visit, and provided a lovely welcome pack with biscuits jams and wine (I enjoyed the honey on my porridge!). We had snow when we visited but the barn was lovely and warm. We do not have a 4x4 vehicle and due to the snow there was no way of getting up the driveway to get out when it was time to leave, all of this was sorted out by Nev who came home from work, fitted snow socks to our vehicle which allowed us to very easily drive up the driveway with him following. Snow socks are amazing!!! although the weather looked beautiful it was not good to get out walking in so we missed doing that, so we will be visiting again to go to some of the lovely places pictured in frames on the walls in the barn. Thank you Kate and Nev for providing such great accommodation we look forward to seeing you again in better weather :)"

"Second visit to this cottage, again not disappointed. The cottage is well equipped for a weeks holiday, also a welcome pack when you arrive tea, coffee milk etc. The cottage is on a working sheep farm with stunning views all around, away from the madding crowd but still only 15 mins drive from shops etc. The wood burner is great for cosy nights on the sofa. The road up to the farm is a bit bumpy,if there's snow recommend 4wheel drive or snow chains(which Nev provides ) if you haven't got any,or if the weather turns for the worse while your there, which sometimes it does. Don't let that put you off though,Nev or Kate will be on hand to get you to and from the cottage if weathers bad. The owners Kate and Nev greet you with a warm welcome, they are also on hand if you need anything. They sell their own lamb off the farm,I do suggest folks try it,it is beautiful lamb, and the lamb and mint sausage is that nice I brought the lot. We will be returning again this year. All in all this cottage is absolutely fantastic,a home from home. 10/10......HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COTTAGE...."

"We really enjoyed our stay at S58124 which was a comfortable and very well appointed property. We had not stayed in this area of the country before and unfortunately the weather was not conducive to doing many local walks; the one we did down to the local pub was very enjoyable (apart from the 20 minutes on return leg that we had to shelter from heavy downpour!). The pub at Thorncliffe provided extremely good food. We visited 6 or 7 nearby National Trust properties which were very interesting and also the National Stone Centre (who would have thought there were more than a dozen different styles of Dry-Stone Wall. The reason we would not rebook this property is because of the location, simply because we rarely visit the same area of the country more than once. The write up is correct that the access track does require a sturdy vehicle as almost half a mile of it is unmade and somewhat bumpy; the first half is tarmac. Thank you to Kate for warm welcome and letting us experience your cosy barn conversion."

"This was our second visit to the barn and we received a lovely warm welcome from the owners Kate and Nev, the welcome pack even included gluten free biscuits which they'd kindly remembered from our first visit :-) The barn is perfect; the bed is really comfortable great for a long lie in, we loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom, the spacious & cosy living room and large well equipped kitchen. We took the opportunity to sample the lamb from the farm which was delivered to the door and was some of the best we'd ever tasted. There is plenty of information about local amenities, places to visit and OS maps provided allowing us to plan trips out from the comfort of the sofa in front of the warming woodburning stove. The barn is situated in a beautiful area with some great walks right from the doorstep and is ideally placed to visit the lovely market towns of Leek and Bakewell. We are already planning our next trip as there is so much more to see and do. Highly recommend this holiday barn."
