"This is a new barn conversion - spacious and well-equipped - and absolutely no problems with the plumbing or electricity supply. The pool is larger than I'd imagined, with effective filters, and has a shaded area which is invaluable for very pale skinned blondes like myself - who are otherwise constantly re-positioning parasols and despairing when they prostrate themselves in the slightest breeze. The view is impressive, and can be enjoyed from the terrace which also has shading. The bedrooms are large and there are three shower rooms (two ensuite) with combination showers - rainfall and standard - with plentiful hot water. The upstairs bedroom also has a bath. The beds are huge and comfortable, and I have to confess to checking the make of pillow so I could buy some for myself! The upstairs living room is quite simply magical. The only (minor) disappointment was that the baby grande piano was locked and I'd have loved to try it out - mine at home is an elderly upright. Perfectly understandable as it's a very beautiful and, I imagine, costly instrument. There is a huge range of books (personal thumbs up for 'Harrius Potter) and DVDs (we chose 'Outnumbered'). The TV plays DVDs only, which wasn't an issue for us as we don't have a TV at home, but perhaps isn't obvious in the house description. This is a beautiful and very comfortable and practical home. We holidayed here with the last two of our five children who are still ok with going on holiday with Mum and Dad, and we have some wonderful memories to treasure. Would we choose to stay here again? Definitely."

"This was our first stay at a gite so we picked an area that we were familiar with. The directions to the gite were spot on and we were greeted by the owner who showed us around and explained things and answered any questions that we had. There was a small welcome pack of tea coffee milk and 2 small bottles of wine which after a 8 hour drive went down very well. The gite was basically equipped with all that we needed over the 2 weeks we stayed. There is statalite TV so we could watch the news and some of the World Cup. Internet connection was poor on a good day but ok if sitting around the pool. Bread for breakfast is a 15 min walk into the village which is nice before the heat of the day. The Super market in the village square is very expensive but there is a intermarche supermarket on the outskirts of the village. There is a tourist information office again on the outskirts of the village and the gentleman who runs this is very helpful. There is a restaurant in the village centre which is popular with the local British also on a Thursday night a mobile fish and chip van pulls up in the square again this is very popular I did not try this as I can have fish and chips at home. I would gladly stay here again as everyone is so friendly the location is quite central, it was good to get away from the modern world for a bit."

"Where to begin! I have been fortunate enough to have stayed in a variety of places over the years and this place is magnificent. The photos and description made me think it was too good to be true - I was wrong! It is everything it said it would be and more. Christian (the owner) met us on arrival and gave us a personal tour. His passion for the place shines through! It is a life’s work for him. He does not speak a word of English - but you get the gist of what he is trying to tell you. The place is maintained to a 5* standard. The size of the property, the facilities, the pool, the BBQ and the gardens are magnificent! You have to go here. There is a boulangerie, butcher, restaurants, winebar and a supermarche 1.3 km away. You will want for nothing. The garden wall literally has the Dordogne as it’s view. Christian is a gent. If you are looking for high-standard, rural French beauty and the space to have your own relaxed holiday THIS IS IT! We cannot wait to go back!"

"We stayed here for two weeks in August of 2018. The Gite is very clean, well maintained and well equipped. Its situated in a quite hamlet just outside of Lalinde, which is a pretty, typical Dordogne town. Upon our arrival, there was a family party next door - the owner owns the adjacent house. She explained that her family were staying and that it is usually very quiet. However, the family, albeit less of them, continued their stay into the week and on the Saturday, they had a LOT of people over. The Gite is directly next to the owners house and there is only a picket type fence between the two. We were sitting at the outside table and the families next door were out playing boule within 15 feet of where we were sitting. It was as if we were holidaying with them for the best part of the afternoon. Thankfully, the owners house was empty for the second week......but we were anxious that someone else would arrive at the owners house."

"We booked Chez Hirondelles from the luxury range and having booked holiday accommodations from this range before that have been amazing, we had high expectations. The owners are lovely and extremely accommodating. Unfortunately we found that the cleanliness was somewhat lacking with quite a lot of dust. Another issue we found was that the cottage was very damp. It was very apparent as soon as you entered the property from the smell and there were signs of black on the walls in most rooms. With two young children we did feel this was a bit of a health hazard and not quite what to expect from an accommodation within the luxury range. The outside space and the pool area are nice and the views are stunning."
