"We have spent many holidays in Rothbury, using it as a base to stock up on provisions and choosing to travel by car to explore the vast county of Northumbria.S80461 was an ideal location, being just on the outskirts of Rothbury, high on a hill with uninterrupted views of breathtaking countryside. It is set away from the farm itself and so is not overlooked.Janice is a welcoming host. She left us milk, tea, coffee and cake so that we were able to chill before starting our unpacking. She visited to welcome us and came to say goodbye at the end of our stay. The cottage itself exceeded our expectation. It was spotlessly clean, furnished to a high standard with new appliances and all the equipment we required.During our week we visited various parts of Hadrians Wall, a number of castles including Dunstanburgh, and Warkworth Castle and Hermitage, Brinkburn Priory down the road from the cottage, and Howick Hall. We also visited the harbour at Amble, and the beach at Durridge Bay.We ate out too and there are lots of lovely coffee shops, restaurants and pubs around. We particularly liked the Three Wheat Heads at Thopton and the tea room at Howick Hall."

"Always love NorthumberlandBungalow ideally placed closed to beach on a quiet roadA quiet village...one shop, one pub and a fabulous bistro/cafe..highly recommend salt water cafe....seahouses close by with more facilities so not an issueLots of walks for the dogs...beach is two minutes awayThe access via the garage is just brilliant...we only used the front door when we arrived and leftTwo small criticisms..the main bedroom is very small....be aware plus during our stay there was a smell like old cigarette smoke in both the second bedroom and lounge which was odd in a non smoking property....no smell of dogs which we might've anticipated.....a container of febreeze seemed to eventually contain itThere also appeared to be a small leak in th conservatory roof at the side which joins the other property as floor was wet which may Ned attentionOverall I would definitely go there again though...Plus God weather...always a bonus"

"We were quite surprised to arrive at a partially complete housing development but once inside the property we were very impressed. The location, a mile outside Amble, is not the greatest for evening walks with the dog. The property was spotlessly clean and the garden ideal for dog owners. We greatly appreciated the welcome pack and the children enjoyed the fast, reliable wifi. We quickly made use of Amble's facilities including an unscheduled trip to the excellent dental practice after a bout of toothache. We enjoyed the quayside fish and chips shop and made regular use of the Co-op.Amble is a good base to explore the south of Northumberland. The beach at Walkworth is quiet and wonderful and quaint Alnmouth is a mere 10 mins away. Enjoyed a pub lunch in the Red Lion beer garden."

"Beadnell is nice, it's pretty, we knew beforehand that there were no local facilities so it was as expected. The cottage was fine, fairly well equipped. There was a sparcity of utensils, 4 of everything which is cutting things very fine for 4 people. The double bedroom is very cramped, the bedroom with 2 single beds is fine. The garage / utility room was very useful. The big issue was the smell in the bathroom, I should not go on holiday and have to mop and bleach the bathroom floor every day. The bathroom is in desperate need of a ventilation fan, especially with a shower. The fact that there was a smell was made worse because the cleaner said it was always like that. The cleaner's work and initial presentation was excellent."

"We had a long weekend at High Trees, the accommodation was excellent. As we were visiting family nearby, we weren't actually in the annex for too long on any one day but that would not have been a problem. The annex and garden cater well for a dog owner and the owner will for a small fee dog sit should you need it. We did take advantage of this one day and it made life easier for us not to have to worry about our four legged companion! We would certainly consider using this accommodation again."
