"We had a lovely week at Park View Barn. We had perfect weather that helped, so we spent a lot of time in the 'sun room' and south facing garden. We have two dogs and the garden was secure and big enough for them to investigate smells and noises without feeling hemmed in. The trees in the garden were full of ripe apples that kept falling from the branches, so we utilised them - and the wonderful kitchen - by making apple cake and apple crumble. The walks in the woods nearby were excellent too. Going to a new area with dogs is always a little unnerving as you want to be sure they are safe and not going to get lost. The wide mown pathways meant it was easy to keep a track on where the dogs were and it was easy to find your way around. The location is beautiful and waking up to see horses and chickens out the window was lovely. And the sunrises and sunsets were stunning too. You truly felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. However, if you did want to go anywhere it was not far to civilisation. Only two things were disappointing, one the road to the property is unmade so if you have a heavily laden car with not great suspension - look out! The other was the shower, not overly safe if you have mobility issues or are unsteady on your feet. We would visit again. We needed a week away to relax and do nothing. This property allowed us to do this and not feel guilty about being lazy!"

"I was looking forward to going somewhere not to far away but when we got there the staff mainly the manger was talking to me like I just entered the army, ‘do I make myself clear’ ‘do you understand’ in a controlled sturn manner I thought she was going to ask to drop and give her 20 at one point!! the manger wasn’t very nice if I didn’t answer a question quick enough I got ‘well?’ ‘Yes? No? Yes? No?’ ‘You going to answer?’ asked me to fill form out as I was I could hear them slagging about other staff I felt awkward and was embarrassed, the lodge wasn’t the greatest it was all stone floor and was quite cold no rugs or anything and they don’t have the basics eg cheese grater, and others, gardeners are always around you feel like you can’t go in the hot tub in the day because he will jump out of nowhere, a man checks the hot tub daily too but he comes round whenever he want, so no set time so again you can’t really go in the hot tub in the day just in case he hasn’t been round, plus sometimes he check it twice other once a day sooo messed up andfor some reason they empty the hot tub every time someone had been (isn’t that what the chemical are for) so it didn’t heat up for a day so that was wasted that day was. not very happy over all NEVER COMING BACK!!! AND I WOULDNT RECOMMEND IT!!!!"

"The lodge and location are both lovely and make for a perfect weekend getaway. The staff should be more available to assist as they were never in the office or answer the phone and when they did answer they were very patronizing. The hot tub is the selling point but instructions are needed as this was not used properly until the third night after staff got it working. Even maintenance admitted they didn't know how to use it. The hot tub is also not private at all, it was visible to all other lodges and the road through the park. You also have to walk quite a distance to get to the tub from the door. Wouldn't agree with the "luxury" description as the staff were not helpful and visitors were expected to do their own washing. However for a basic trip this was pretty good."

"The Cottage is surprisingly bigger than it looks and tastefully decorated, nice and light and very comfortable. Bedding and everything about the place is top quality. The Pub down the road is quaint, friendly and does good food. Atherstone 2 miles away has everything you may need including places to eat and also the Chinese and Indian restaurants only took about 30 minutes to deliver. The view from the decking is as the picture and you can see as far as Birmingham (15 Miles), which is something to see after dark. So pleased we found this lovely cottage, really enjoyed our peaceful stay, owners friendly and would recommend to anyone as its such good value for money."

"An excellent holiday let at a high standard of comfort, decor, facilities, cleanliness and beautiful views in a lovely village setting. Local amenities are a short drive away, there is a great pub a short walk away and if you want to go further afield the transport links are very handy to all sights and attractions of the Midlands. There are some great short walks nearby (great for a quick stretch of the legs) and longer walks are near too albeit by car. Hosts are very helpful, accommodating and are not intrusive - they could not be more helpful. Highly recommend this holiday let - excellent value for money for some relaxing peace and quiet with our dogs."
