"Styling of the interior is great with 2 sitting rooms. Lot's of character. However the interior is very dark (not a lot of windows). We felt a bit locked up in this cottage. The owners are living in the attached main house and are very kind and leave you alone (that's good). It was very warm the week we stayed and the kitchen was equipped with an AGA that was constantly burning. The temparature in the kitchen was 30 degrees !!!. It felt liked a sauna so we only used it twice. We are not familiar with an AGA. Some will love it. We hate it (the AGA that is). Outside space is limited and not private. There is some garden furniture. Nice to look at but not useable/practical. The ramp from the road to the property is pretty steep. So if you own a car with low ground clearance you will scratch your bumper."

"I stayed here with a group of friends for my 40th birthday and we had a lovely time. The kitchen was well equipped, nice little courtyard which is shared but neighbours friendly and we could sit outside. We didn't have need for the fire(s), but were all able to sit down for dinner and the kitchen had everything we needed including a good supply of tea and coffee. The rooms are really excellent - beds are very comfortable and we all had a fantastic night sleep, even after champagne! I would heartily recommend this to people wanting to explore the local area. We didnt get much chance but Melton is close by and worth a visit and we did manage the Sunday antique market and car boot which was good. Pork pies are also worth a try, particularly topped with Stilton!"

"This cottage is ideally located for Walking, Cycling & Fishing enthusiasts. It has been modernised to give you all the comforts of home yet the owners have succeeded in keeping its character. Only a short walk away there is a Post Office/Shop here you can buy some necessary staples but for your main shopping you will have to go to Corby where there is a Aldi and a Asda superstore. Not far from the shop there is the local pub unfortunately they do not server meals but it is a pleasant place to have a drink. The owners of the cottage have provided a list of where to go for meals and places to see. The owners are very friendly and pleasant to talk to my brother and I had a number of conversations with them. THIS COTTAGE HAS BEEN PLACED ONTO OUR TO GO AGAIN LIST."

"We stayed at Grange Croft for a month whilst relocating to the UK with our 3 teenagers. There is nothing to fault with Grange Croft. The cottage is very well equipped to make your stay enjoyable, the decor and furnishings are to a high standard, it really feels like a home and not a holiday let. All bedrooms are spacious with double beds, wardrobe, table and chair plus TV. To the rear of the property there is a garden/patio which is not overlooked and very private. Good location for Melton Mowbray, Oakham and Rutland Water. Beautiful 3 hour walk on footpaths / roads to Oakham. Local Pub and The Windmill Tea room are well worth a visit- just a few mins walk away. The owners are very welcoming. Definitely will stay there again."

"Whilst Grangecroft was maintained to a very high standard and finish it was disappointing to find we were continually cold throughout our stay as the owners controlled the heating and the fire wasn’t working and would have been at an extra cost.Disappointingly to get your security deposit back it was necessary to strip all the beds! This coupled with a feeling of being watched meant we had to cut our break short. What a shame as this is a lovely property with the potential of being a fabulous place to take a break however the things mentioned spoilt things for our group"
