"We enjoyed our stay in this cottage, very conveniently located for town centre shops, restaurants, bars, public transport, the minster, the museum, the cinema and the attractive riverside with its little ferry across to Wick and the longer boat trip to Mudeford. Bournemouth, Dorchester and the New Forest are also in easy day-out distance. We had travelled by train, but the off-road parking was useful when relatives called. For a couple, the spacious main bedroom with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space was fine, but the second bedroom looked as if it might be rather cramped for another two adults. Traffic noise had been mentioned in other reviews and, although we were aware of it at times, we didn't find it very intrusive. It was made clear in the property description that the bathroom was on the ground floor, which, together with the narrow staircase, might not suit everyone. With so much to do nearby, we didn't use the garden area but thought it would benefit from a bit of TLC, and the outdoor table and seating might have appealed more if not so close to the house next door."

"This was a short notice booking and I couldn't have picked anywhere nicer. It was simple and easy to book, details were emailed to me and I spoke to the owner re arrival times, etc. The cottage was much larger than expected (the photos didn't do it justice), was quiet, peaceful and had everything I could need for a relaxing, enjoyable break away from the rat-race. Beautiful garden to relax in at the end of the day and although the owners live in the adjoining property, I was left alone to just go about my business. Spotlessly clean, probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in while away and a lovely welcome basket of fresh bread, wine, butter and milk to start me off. Centrally located to get to all the tourist spots but also within a few minutes' walk of a lovely sandy harbour/bay with clear water to swim in, beach huts, cafe and an excellent children's play area. I hope to stay at Spindrift again later in the year and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. A perfect little gem of a find."

"Good situation for visiting area. Security is poor - porch door locks well but main front door just has a yale lock - there are bolts top and bottom but neither work. I would say the bungalow has been refurbished for owners to live in at some time and not as a holiday let. Double bed was comfortable and storage good. Shortage of mirrors in main bedroom - dressing table mirror is for midgets. Second bedroom has no wardrobe. Lounge is laid out very well although a roller blind on the window/doors would be appreciated. Kitchen is of a high standard with lots of storage, however simplicity is the key for a holiday and the microwave being part of the oven set up required some understanding of technology. Eating cutlery and crockery very good but cooking pots and pans very poor. 2 tea cloths supplied were extremely stained. No kitchen towel. 2 wet rooms both excellent. I would stay again bringing some of my own equipment."

"We were looking for a last minute break and Forest Lodge was available. It was our first holiday with our dog. We were very happy with everything. Perfect for a complete rest. Little phone signal & no internet connection - not a problem for us but may be for others. Forest Lodge is situated in the grounds of the owners property but is very private. The owners are very approachable should you require anything. It was very peaceful, surrounded by nature in all it's glory. Some fabulous walks to be had in the area and the coast is a scenic drive away. Just perfect! We were in the lodge during May's spectacular overnight storms - what an experience! The ground soon becomes very muddy, churned up by the donkeys, ponies & cattle that roam freely very close by, so, pack your wellies & dog towels!"

"There was major work going on next door all the time we were there (7 nights). The key box was left open as it does not appear to lock. The bungalow kitchen is fitted out well but there is no information on how to use some of the equipment such as the coffee maker, the washer, the dvd and video and information on essential services such as GP, hospital, dentist etc are missing. There was nowhere to hang your clothes in the shower room attached to the kitchen and there was no towel rail at the side of the sink in the same shower room.We arrived to a bottle of wine but no milk and after a long journey a cup of tea would have been more appreciated. The furnishings in the bungalow are nice but a little bare in the kitchen. The bungalow overall is nice but for the price the basics are missing."
