"I like to give a fair and rounded review of places we have stayed at, with positive points and areas for improvement. So here goes.First, the positives: We were given a warm welcome by Amanda and Julian, who are lovely people and perfect hosts, being very helpful and friendly but also leaving us to get on with the holiday without intrusion.S50477 is immaculately clean, very comfortable, extremely well equipped, modern but with traditional country-cottage appeal. There is a beautiful, fully equipped modern kitchen, a comfortable lounge with a good TV/DVD player (for watching the World Cup of course), a lovely bedroom with a very comfortable and large bed, very good sized modern en-suite shower room, and a delightful and very private courtyard garden. In fact, there is everything you need for a relaxed, comfortable stay.Location wise, well, it's the Isle of Wight, so it is simply stunning. Tucked away down a quiet country lane a 10 to 15 minute walk from Totland Beach, with shops within easy reach and even, wait for it, a post office. It's also not far from the Lymington - Yarmouth ferry. Now for the negatives:Well I'm sorry to disappoint, but I honestly can't think of a single one.If S50477 was a movie character it would be Mary Poppins, because quite simply it is "Practically Perfect in Every Way".We'll be going back."

"We stayed for a weekend at S88414 as we were attending a wedding in Yarmouth. The directions and location for our needs were brilliant - when we got off the Yarmouth ferry it was a 6-9 minute drive to the house. On arrival there was a lovely welcome pack and the owner was in contact beforehand to give information on the cottage and the area. Sue also found out about the bus service for us to get to the wedding. We were 2 couples and 2 grown up children - plenty of hot water, the bedding and towels were clean and comfortable athe bedrooms were on the whole comfortable although the twin beds were low and our grown up children found them uncomfortable. We made use of the garden furniture and the garden was sunny in the afternoon. It was a bit of a squash round the dining table for 6 adults but we ate out mostly. Approx 15 mins walk to Totland and Colwell Bay and a shop across the road for necessities. On a main road which I did not expect. Could benefit from some black out blinds as the light came flooding into the bedrooms first thing in the morning, so we woke early. Wifi etc and kitchen appliances all very efficient. Great stay - recommend!"

"A lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage was spotlessly clean and in excellent decorative order with most of the bits and bobs you need in a cottage holiday. The owner, Olga, is most helpful and makes every effort to ensure that all is as it should be, even providing home made cakes, a pint of milk and a bottle wine on arrival! The fresh flowers were also a nice touch and much appreciated, as was a lighter weight duvet to change for the 10 tog when summer arrived suddenly. Although there isn't a nearby pub serving bar meals in the evening, a local cafe is an excellent venue for breakfast, coffee and lunch. Good bar meals are available within a short drive. We were most surprised to discover just how dog friendly the IOW is, not just tolerating the furry family member but actively welcoming him into virtually all venues. This cottage is an excellent base to visit the IOW, close to the beach and not far from the ferry at Yarmouth. We would certainly like to come again."

"when we arrived the kettle was broken so we used a pot to boil water to make tea. The lounge carpet was absolutely filthy. There was no heating in one of the bathrooms which was absolutely freezing. There was no tumble dryer, so you couldn’t dry anything if it was raining, apart from an airer. The house alarm was active on the dining room, so every time you used the room the alarm sounder would activate. You could not contact the housekeeper because the contact number had been deactivated. Also the emergency contact telephone had also been deactivated. The house had various lightbulbs blown and there were cobwebs and dead spiders hanging from curtains. This must rank as one of the worst houses I have ever rented."

"Lovely property, as described in the description and pictures. Lovely extra's when we arrived, a bottle of wine in the fridge and a box of cakes!!! Lovely to sit on the patio with a beer and let the kids play outside. Great location few minutes walk to the beach (lovely beach), lovely quite location, easy acess for buses another island breazer busses. Very close to the Needles. Lots of attraction to visit with the kids and beaches are lovely. Lovely large playing area for the kids. Shame there isn't a entertainment area or a eating Resturant/bar on site (there is a lovely large empty building in the middle would be perfect for this) Would definitely recommend S25777s an would happily stay her again!!!"
