"A superb, well-maintained property in a quiet location and we couldn't fault it. Included was the best welcome pack we have ever received, including milk, refreshing non-alcoholic drink, biscuits, strawberries and cream and a box of chocolates! One big advantage is that the owners live nearby and are very helpful and friendly, calling in to check that all is OK both on arrival and departure, though we had no issues. The ample parking space adjacent the property was very welcome. It is a lovely quiet area, the only noise being from the sheep in the field behind. There is shop nearby but few other local amenities; however, Hornsea is 10 minutes' drive away and has shops, a retail outlet and a Tesco superstore so shopping is no problem. Sadly the local beaches now have limited access due to coastal erosion, but there are several towns nearby with sea fronts such as Hornsea, Bridlington and Scarborough. The Yorkshire Moors with Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and the North Yorks Railway are all within easy reach. The weather was warm when we stayed but I would guess that the cottage would be warm in winter as well as it boasts oil-fired central heating, double glazing and a wood-burning stove. We stayed 4 nights and are already booked to go again in September for 7 nights. I wouldn't mind the odd chilly evening as I want an excuse to light the stove!"

"Whilst the cottage itself was very good and there was an amazing welcome pack, the location for us was big disappointment. If I had known beforehand that there was no local pubs or restaurants within walking distance I wouldn't have booked it. The only pub/restaurant is closed, this needs to be updated on your website. Also there is a suggestion that the local store is less than a mile away which leads you to conclude that it's walkable, in theory this is correct, however, in practise it's not as the road doesn't have a footpath all the way and in fact where there is no footpath is the most dangerous ie on bad bends. There is also no wifi in the cottage which is another downside. So for these reasons we wouldn't book again. Sorry"

"Really nice location and very quiet. All you need is in the cottage and cleanliness reasonably good. Sadly looks like maintenance is required to get the cottage up to scratch.Mould in shower, Windows very dirty including patio doors, loose toppings on brick wall outside, porch outside patio doors leaking, old sat dish not in use still attached and many other bits and bobs that if sorted would make this an excellent option instead of just good.Tom was very nice and approachable as was his wife, just not a handy man I guess. Not to paint to bad a picture bed linen and towels very clean as was the furniture, we would not return as generally we like to visit different places, but would probably recommend the cottage as a option.p"

"Very spacious cottage in a very private setting with nice views. There are no facilities within comfortable walking distance and all roads to the sea are currently closed due to cliff erosion. We had chilly wet weather but the cottage was very warm and comfortable. An extensive welcome pack was provided which was appreciated. The cottage was superficially very clean but lacked attention to cleaning detail, taps and handles needed cleaning, several cooking utensils were caked in burnt food. There are no games or books for use on wet days, the magazines available date from 2008 and require updating. We would recommend the cottage to others if deep cleaning and updating of equipment and amenities took place."

"It makes a nice change to find that the photos for the property are exactly what you get. It's in a beautiful location. It was spotlessly clean. It was very peaceful and everything you would want for a luxury relaxing break from everyday life. An added bonus was all the animals nearby. The owners have horses, a pot bellied pig, chickens and a goat, whilst we also saw hares and deer in the surrounding fields. The nearby Ox pub sells really excellent food with huge portions whilst for something more special the Copper Horse in nearby Seamer is a superb gastro pub of the highest order. The owners of S80462 were very helpful and discreet. Overall this cottage is perfect."
