"This property has the potential to be graded excellent but a few niggles brought the score way down. Location is good and near the harbour but no view from the property unless you go to the top bedroom. The layout is first class and spacious with a bathroom/shower on both bedroom floors. The furniture in the lounge/diner/kitchen is only suitable for a maximum of 4 adults as the pretty commode chairs are not comfortable. The wi-fi is a 'joke' with speeds of less than 1mb/second on a good day. Cleanliness inside was very good apart from under all the beds where dust had gathered due to the wooden floors. Externally the property is in need of a coat of paint and we had to clean the front lounge windows to allow light into the property. The biggest disappointment was the lack of any sort of welcome pack, although not advertised, we would have expected toilet paper, washing up liquid and cloths. The rear courtyard is not to be mentioned. This may have been a great property 4-5 years ago but is now desperately in need of some TLC."

"This apartment was very nice and clean, it was within walking distance of the local hotel which sold very nice meals, which although slightly pricey was worth the money. Also a local shop and pub. A nice coffee shop and small antique shop. This was a good base to visit our family who live within all lived within a 15 mile radius in various directions. Being used to having a car at my disposal, I did find not having a car the first couple of days I felt a bit isolated, although there was no real reason to feel that as there is a very good bus service, which we used to go to St Andrews the day before getting a hire car. The couple who own this property are very nice and live next door. We had a slight problem with the heating, so I phoned the contact number, they had the issue sorted within 30 mins. This is an upstairs apartment and is not suitable for disabled wheelchair users, but they do have a one bed apartment downstairs, which I think may be. "

"Have been visiting fife for 7 years always stay in same house in st monans but this time it was booked so we had to change our plans. Worked out well we found this beautiful House, in a great location it felt like we were in the sea, it was great sitting on both the balcony and the patio watching the boats go by and we were lucky enough to see 2 dolphins one morning it was delightful. The house is in walking distance of the town were there are great restraunts our 2 favourites were the Bank and Anstruther fish bar. We've often walked the coastal path towards Elie, Pitenweem and Anstruther, this time we managed the Anstruther to Crail trail, came across the caves of Caiplie a must see i recommend taking a picinic it is a lovely place to pass a few hours. We had such a great time in this house were going back at the end of April."

"The cottage is in a good position; both in the village and situated near Cupar and St Andrews.Unfortunately the cottage was very cold when we arrived. As it was a particularly cold spell it was a pity the owner had not thought to put the heating on earlier. It took quite some time for the cottage to feel comfortably warm. Both the electric and Gas fires had been disconnected, so no additional background heating was available. The leather sofas in the living room were very low and difficult to get up from. Low energy light bulbs made the cottage seem very dark. A better quality of bulb would be better as well as lampshades which reflect more light."

"The house was well equipped and a great size and we really enjoyed the kitchen / living space. Unfortunately the single beds seemed to be all children's beds. The bed in the single (blue) room was not suitable for sleeping on as the slats kept falling out. Some of the other single mattresses were old and very uncomfortable. Also the house didn't seem to have been cleaned properly before arrival - certainly not hoovered! All a wee bit disappointing as everything else about the house was great. As mentioned by others the road noise was very loud, and there is no shop in Guardbridge. However Leuchars and St Andrews are very close."
