"Stable Cottage is the most perfect Scottish retreat holiday home you could ask for. The owners are delightful hosts and left us wine and gorgeous home made shortbread to welcome us in. The cottage is comfortable and so well equipped it was a pleasure to stay there. Everything I could possibly need was already waiting for me, right down to the hook on the back of the bathroom door!! Storage was amazing with two small pantry rooms to store anything you might have brought with you on holiday, perfect for bulky golf clubs etc.. The kitchen was amazing, the cupboards well stocked with china and cutlery for every occasion. Even an extra small freezer in the pantry. We stayed at the height of summer so the small cottage garden, perfectly enclosed for our dogs, was at its most glorious with beautiful cottage roses and established flowers everywhere. Our dogs where welcomed by the owners and they we relaxed about them being in the cottage too. Plenty of places for us to take the dogs for walks and very local to St. Andrews for beaches and glorious scenic views and adventures all round. I could not recommend this wonderful place highly enough. It was the most perfect holiday retreat ever."

"Quaint cottage located in rural Fife, lovely garden with wild rustic charm. Inside furnishings were adequate, well stocked kitchen. Comfortable bedrooms and very pleasant sun patio. Easy collection, communication and access. One big issue however - the kitchen had obviously been used to keep one or more dog(s), and the smell was so strong for the first three days, we had to leave the door open almost all the time, added to which when cooking / having breakfast as a non-dog person I really didn't appreciate this (possible also hygiene concern). To be fair the surfaces in kitchen were clean, but the mats in kitchen and residual smell were extreme, to the point we kept the mats outside on the washing line until departure, after day 3 of a week, either the smell faded or we got used to it, the reason for 6 on cleanliness (the rest of the property was problem free and pleasant). But arriving after international travel, it would have been impractical, and tiring, to source alternative accommodation. However overall glad that we stayed, hosts were discrete and stay otherwise problem free. There is also an excellent grill outside the kitchen which did a mean t-bone steak,"

"This cottage was a delight - such a joy to walk in on a cold, wet night to be welcomed by a lovely cosy warmth. The cottage was charming and very well equipped, with delightful little personal touches like candles in the living room and even some in the bathroom, a supply of wood stacked beside the stove in the living room and nice fluffy towels in the bedrooms. The helpful owners lived next door and were available should we need anything, but at no time were they intrusive. We were able to bring our dog with us and the cottage even had a 'doggie box' full of towels and bits and pieces to make our four legged friend's stay as enjoyable as our own. The private location made sure we had peace and quiet and the clear starlit night skies were breath taking. We definitely want to return."

"The cottage itself is lovely and homely, nestled in the quiet little village of Cellardyke, which is a continuation of Anstruther.Inside, however, the two sofas could certainly do with replacing as they have seen better days many years ago; there is no "parking for three cars", despite what the website states - streetview John St, Cellardyke and you will see exactly how tight and narrow the street is. We had to drive several streets away some evenings in order to secure a parking space. Finally, to access the rear garden, you have to walk thru another property, and while the neighbours are both friendly and understanding, this arrangement is far from ideal"

"Our sixth visit to S23314! As we do not usually re-visit a property, this fact alone shows just how much we love S23314 and the owners, Ian and Norma. My wife and I always take our Cocker Spaniels on holiday with us (or is it the other way round?!) and they have always enjoyed a fantastic time here. The cottage itself is lovely and comfortable, the garden is beautiful (a wonderful playground for dogs!) and the surrounding environs are superb. The cottage is in an ideal situation for exploring this fabulous part of Scotland. As for the owners, Ian and Norma, one could not wish for a more genuinely lovely couple."
