Staying in Fife

A significant part of Fife is coastal and as a result as home to diverse wildlife you can spot from many of the charming seaside towns. There is a lot to delight the foodies out there too. Not only are there some excellent, award-winning, restaurants but there are numerous farmers markets, opportunities to pick your own and even taste craft beer, whiskey or gin from its source. Regardless of what draws you to this delightful region, Snaptrip has the perfect late availability cottage for your trip to Fife.

"lovely location, can't say a word against it. great for the coastal walk or pop over to Elie and do the chain walk - well worth the visit. Eating and drinking are well taken care of whether it's an ice cream, great fish and chips or a lovely meal at the dreel tavern (great atmosphere, welcoming staff and a good range of beer and whisky if you're in the mood. Parking is a bit of a pain as the nearest place is down near the water - if you can get a place. The house was nice but just seemed a bit over priced for what it was, a more up to date music system with usb/bluetooth connectivity and an upgrade on the TV to a slightly larger screen would help for those cold east coast nights. Blown light bulbs and a rope bannister that had already started pulling out of the wall also let it down a bit."

"We can't fault this property nor our host(s) as they could not be more accomodating if they tried. The house is beautiful and almost a Tardis inside. Everything you need and more and is supplied in the house so if you're like me and take all but the kitchen sink with you wherever you go, I advise on this occasion that you won't need too. This home is ample for a family or group of friends as all rooms are spacious and spread across three floors. The shared garden is a small piece of tranquil delight which has a very calming effect when you find a spare five minutes to yourself - it has been lovingly cared for which is very evident when you're there. All in all, this was the perfect holiday home and we would all return in a heartbeat. Thankyou again :)"

"We had a lovely short break at S70226, the owners seemed to have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. All the furniture, equipment and fittings were of a good quality. The flat is a very short walk from the beach and a short walk from one of the local pubs, The Railway Inn, which deserves a special mention for being both dog and human friendly. Our only issue is the stairs up to the property and also within the property up to the living area. It was a little inconvenient but would not put us off coming back. The owner contacted us prior to our stay to give us directions and provide the access details, they also left a bottle of wine which was a kind gesture."

"The cottage itself is lovely and homely, nestled in the quiet little village of Cellardyke, which is a continuation of Anstruther.Inside, however, the two sofas could certainly do with replacing as they have seen better days many years ago; there is no "parking for three cars", despite what the website states - streetview John St, Cellardyke and you will see exactly how tight and narrow the street is. We had to drive several streets away some evenings in order to secure a parking space. Finally, to access the rear garden, you have to walk thru another property, and while the neighbours are both friendly and understanding, this arrangement is far from ideal"

"We (four adults, a three year old, a toddler and two dogs) enjoyed our four nights at S37667 although we had to keep a very good eye on the children and dogs when they were in the garden. In fact, we kept the dogs on their leads. The cottage is very well equipped, but we would have welcomed a dishwasher. The village has a little shop, a pub and a friendly hotel which serves good meals, so there was no problem getting food. There are a few good walks from the cottage and an interesting church to visit in Ceres. Further afield, there are numerous places to visit including the Scottish Deer Centre, the coast, St Andrews and many golf courses."
