"Having stayed at Sloe Trees on a number of previous occasions I was very disappointed to find that the owners are letting the property degrade. 1.Some of the double glazed windows have blown and were covered with condensation.2. The sofas in the lounge is past their best .3. The surrounds require attention as there are a number of patio tiles that are lose and require resetting. They could be dangerous if small children are running around. 4. The property had, in my opinion, not been cleaned properly and the vacuum cleaner was already half full of muck!5. The smell from the dishwasher was awful when we opened the door of the machine. We closed it up and did not use it all week preferring to wash by hand in the sink.6. The shower over the bath is broken and cannot be used as intended. We had to prop the shower head up as best we could.7. Some how wasps are getting into the bedrooms, even when the windows are closed. On a number of occasions we found dead wasps on the floors.8. Comments about the shower had been made in the visitors book over the past few years but for whatever reason the owners have ignored them!I am not setting anything down here which I did not mention on a note that I left at the property. I also made similar comments in the visitors book myself. In view of the overall condition of the property now I do not consider that it is worth the rate charged. I consider that these points should be taken up with the owners."

"This is a very spacious cottage with all the necessary amenities in the kitchen. The furniture is plentiful and of good quality. It has a secluded garden with a sitting out area. The cottage is tastefully decorated and attractive. There is a sense that the cleaning between visits is very thorough. On the negative side are a number of issues. The site is close to the very busy Fosse Way, and a gravel extraction plant. The plant becomes very noisy from 7.30am onwards, and the diggers are visible from the cottage. Because of the busy road, walks from the house are at best noisy, and, at worst, dangerous. Some double glazing units have broken down, and the resultant condensation trapped between the panes is unsightly. Quite a lot of painted wood is in need of attention.TV was not working on arrival, and needed new batteries, and the WiFi only worked on rare occasions. We did not find the settees comfortable, to the point of back and neck ache, but this is a very personal thing. Re cycling is a joke, I have never read such complicated instructions, and we never found the paper and cans bin, We ended up taking a lot of it home.Despite this, we enjoyed our stay in the beautiful Cotswolds, and would, probably, give Sloe Trees another go. We especially enjoyed the abundance of wildlife viewed from the windows."

"S74008 is a purpose built holiday let. Although finished to a nice standard, we personally we found it rather clinical. The sofa in the lounge is rather small so after a long day exploring in the cotwolds it was hard to relax (my partner is 6ft2) and the single beds didn't do anything for the romantic in us ! Looking at the previous occupants the majority appear to be couples so I would suggest the single beds are replaced with a nice big kingsize bed. Also, it was difficult to get a Wi-Fi connection as this is extended from the owners property so the only way to stay connected is to position your device on the window ledge facing the owners house, which made lazy browsing impossible. (you had to perch on a chair by the kitchen sink) plus there was no 3/4g connection either ! The owner did explain he was having some issues with wi-fi and was waiting for the Engineer to come out on Tuesday (2 days after we left), but I did read some similar comments from 3 months ago so I would check before booking. All in all, a good location for Bicester shopping village, a clean and well maintained property, with some lovely touches such as the lemon cake on arrival, but this didn't make up for the rest ! To be honest we left a day early as we wanted to wake up in our own comfy bed and browse the web :)"

"Sloe Trees is a great location for being able to visit other cities as we did, such as Bath and Oxford. The house itself is in need of some care and updating. The owners are selling the property so it seems as if they are reticent to modernise it, even though it is in need of it. The house is a good size with good facilities (a weak but warm shower) but definitely needs to be modernised and windows addressed as there were many flies found dead during our stay.Although marketed as having WiFi, once booked we were told it was limited. In fact during our whole stay we couldn’t access the internet at all so would recommend being prepared for this. Sloe Trees is a lovely property but overall needs a lot of improvement and has needed it for some years, as stated in the visitors book - many visitors have suggested improvements over the years and the property still needs those changes now. It is clear that the owners are not keen to make the changes so can’t see it getting any better."

"Really enjoyed our break at S78663 at the beginning of February 18. The house is lovely, I could have gladly moved in and lived there, it's in a pretty village with an award winning pub. There is everything you need for a holiday at the house, it has a good size garden which would be ideal in the summer to sit out and enjoy. The cottage is one of the best we have stayed in, my husband was impressed with the six TVs, I slept so well in the very comfy double bed. The only downside is there is no local shop, so whilst the pub is walkable, a car is needed to pop the the next village for milk etc. When we walked around the village I did notice there is ground put aside for a community shop/cafe which would be a really bonus for the village. We would definitely visit again, just wished we could afford the house if it ever came up for sale."
