"A bit mixed, and definitely not up to the normal standard of what I'd expect from this sort of site. The lodge itself was a good size. Hot tub was situated on a small deck with picnic table which backed directly into trees.Lighting in the cabin though was appalling. Using two cold and stark lights to light the living area just made the place feel cold and depressing. Had to use the one strip light in the kitchen to light the rest of the living area. Combined with the fact that the wood structure of the cabin is a warm colour, and the cold light doesn't illuminate well, it ended up very dark. The hot tub was good, albeit there wasn't the usual mechanism to lift the cover off, so we ended up having to do a bit of manual lifting which was a bit precarious to get the cover on and off. The cover was also in dire need of replacement and it just looked a bit scabby, and was dropping bits of polystyrene into the hot tub itself. The bed in the master bedroom has a solid end to it, so if you're any taller than 6 foot, then don't expect to be able to fit that well. The thermostat on the wall had the dial about 8 degrees off from what it actually would be set to, so if you set the temperature to 16 degrees (this is in August!), then it would actually be trying to heat to 23 or 24 degrees so it ended up very hot inside. A large corner sofa is enough to sit 4 comfortably, but there isn't enough light around to be able to read a book by, so expect to be sitting at the kitchen table if you want to be seeing anything. There is a washer/drier available (tablets available from the shop on site), but the lodge information folder is missing the page of the instructions from it which say which programme is which, so we had to do a bit of googling for that. There was enough cutlery and crockery for people, although only two mismatched eggcups meant that if we wanted boiled eggs, we did have to stagger breakfasts rather than doing them all in one go!The fridge was missing all the shelves in the door, so we couldn't put any bottles in there which made it a bit awkward to fit things in."

"ACCOMMODATION5/525 Fox Plus Lodge was perfect. There was only two of us and the dog, but the lodge had a bathroom and a shower room, along with three bedrooms to sleep six. Very good lodge. Large kitchen/diner with the usual appliances, including a Tassimo coffee machine. Tea/coffee/milk on arrival and two dishwasher tablets. Kitchen included a large fridge, a large freezer, a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. Living room with freeview and a DVD player. Two bedrooms with two singles in each. Walk in wardrobes in both. Bathroom with overhead shower (the better shower of the two) and toilet. Main bedroom with double bed and en-suite. En-suite also had a shower. All rooms had a TV with Freeview. Lots of cupboard and drawer space in all rooms. The decked hot tub area was very private. I imagine in Summer it would be more private when there are leaves on the trees. Bath robes provided. Just outside the decked area there was also a BBQ and large wheely bin.CLEANLINESSOverall - 3/5The accommodation was very clean, but bathrooms were slightly hairy, with extractors needing a good dust. Nothing major, but when paying the big bucks the small details are important."

"A beautifully converted barn with first class accommodation and pretty much as described by owner. Two small shortcomings:- 1.The garden with patio was not a garden but an area of chippings/stones, situated between the rented property and the owners facing conversion. It was furnished with a large wooden picnic table and chairs but afforded no privacy. 2. a £200 bond was required to secure the rental, to be returned if all went well. The property was thoroughly cleaned and tidied by ourselves and we complied with the laid down/itemised rules (posted on the wall of the entrance hall.). Our relationship with the owner, family and dogs, which popped in to see us, was very positive and we were most surprised when we had £20 deducted from our bond - the reason given being that we had not properly sorted out the waste. In fact we had made every effort to bin materials in the labelled containers in accordance with the rules. £20 is a small sum but we felt somewhat insulted. Visitors will not be disappointed in the property - and I would recommend it to a friend - but they would need to be assiduously careful in following the rules."

"Lovely lodge and stunning surroundings, however for the 5 days we were there there was building work being done on the other lodges. There was a lot of people and vans around doing work which was off putting and we were not forewarned about this! Also the Hottub did not maintain its temperature very well therefore would get cold after a while, the staff were very friendly and said we could contact them if this happened however by the time we got into the hottub at night it would be too late for this. The lodge itself was cosy and comfortable, it was just a shame about all the noise! When initially phoning the contact number provided from Hoseasons with a few queries the man I spoke to was very rude and essentially said "well what do you want me to do about it" and said that he didn't know why he's number was listed as he didn't really do much with it. The lady who greeted us when we got there was very friendly and approachable, and she text us the last of the directions to prevent us getting lost which was helpful. They also allowed us to check into the lodge a few hours earlier."

"This cottage is truly outstanding. The location is perfect in a beautiful quiet tranquil setting. The owners are very accommodating. When we arrived there was homemade apple juice cakes and hotcross buns which were perfect and tasted beautiful. The cottage is so warm and has everything you need. The views are just amazing. There is so much to do with the kids in surrounding areas (about half hour drive ) trentham monkey forest., waterworld and Gladstone pottery museum are fab days outl There are also lots of good eating places around. The one thing that truly made my holiday was a facial and massage from Vicki the owner of the property. They live next to the cottage and run the b&b. It was truly the best facial I have ever had I felt amazing Vicki is so lovely i highly recommend taking time out to do this. All in all this is the best cottage we have stayed in you won't be disappointed at all. We can't wait to go back."
