"A group of 7 of us (3 adults and 4 children under 10) all stayed at S5953 during February half term. Actually this was our second visit but the cottage wasn't yet on TripAdvisor to write a review. All I can say is that the cottage is perfect. It is beautifully decorated, contemporary but with a very coastal cottage feel. Spotlessly clean, warm, spacious and well kitted out with everything you could possible need. It also has a wonderful sea view and is located right across the road from the sea. Portknockie is a peaceful village with a lovely harbour and lots of good walks, caves and beaches to explore. There is also a local Spar that is open til 8pm most nights or the Cullen Co-Op is just a couple of minutes drive away. I have to mention the beds! - all of the beds were comfortable ,the bedlinen was soft and clean and it was an absolutely joy to get into bed at the end of the day. Even though the weather was lovely, it was still cold so we spent a lot of time indoors enjoying this cosy cottage with the wood burning fire roaring! We will definitely be back again shortly. Simply perfect and we all have a fantastic time.."

"This is an outstanding cottage with wonderful charm and character, a real home from home. It is set in a picturesque location, in a coastal fishing village, on the Moray firth. The cottage is spacious, full of character and wonderfully decorated. It has everything you could possibly need! Clean, cosy and with some lovely personal touches, including a book containing information about the history of the cottage - fascinating - an old fisherman's cottage transformed into a contemporary coastal holiday home. The cottage has beautiful views out to sea. Portknockie harbour is quaint and peaceful, and Bow Fiddle Rock is just a few minutes walk from the house. This offered us incredible views and wonderful photo opportunities. We'd recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise behind Bow Fiddle - absolutely stunning! The Moray Coast Trail is a stones throw away and runs for 50 miles along the coast; perfect for cycling, running or walking along. We loved seeing seals from Portessie Bay, Ospreys from the top of the Bin of Cullen and we're looking forward to coming back to see the dolphins! We thoroughly recommend a holiday here!"

"This cottage was in a great location near a lovely little harbour. It was in immaculate condition & equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owner met us & showed us around & presented us with a very generous welcome food hamper. The cottage was warm & cosy & a lot of thought had been given to its nautical /seaside decor. There was a huge range of board & console games /equipment, books & DVD's. so even if the weather is poor, lots to keep you occupied . Very quiet area so great to just unwind & chill out. The local pub was a couple of mins walk from cottage with very friendly owner & staff. Nice food. The village is very pretty as is the surrounding area. For the whisky lovers, loads of distilleries in the area, many nice places to have lunch etc. Everywhere we went the local people were friendly & welcoming . Lots of beaches & places to walk your dog. A big thank you to the owner Janette & her husband ,we had a lovely week that passed all too quickly"

"Absolutely fantastic accommodation the photos do not do justice to this property. The place is big and very well thought out. Views from the property are excellent and the location is ideal. The enclosed back garden was fantastic for the dog. Town facilities with normal shops and takeaways a short drive away or a nice walk. There is also a supermarket for groceries and fuel etc. The owners have thought of everything, unfortunately we were unable to meet them on arriving at the property but they were only a text away and told us not to hesitate in contacting them if we needed anything. They even asked us what milk and bread we wanted getting in. Will definitely be back and would give this property a first class reference, even the neighbours were friendly and even gave us details of a lovely walk from Portknockie along the beach to Cullen, where we obtained a delicious ice cream - well worth a visit."

"The location of the cottage was excellent, so near to the harbour and lovely walks. The cottage itself was exceptional, the best we have ever booked from Sykes Cottages. Everything in the cottage was of the highest quality and the welcome pack left for us was wonderful. We will definitely be booking this cottage again. We went to the local church on the hill for the Sunday morning service and we were made most welcome. It was a really good service. Two eating places worth mentioning are the Rockpool at Cullen (better to make a booking) and the Galley restuarant at Whitehills harbour (again, better to make a booking). The food and service at both places was first class. Moray has a beautiful coast, with little fishing villages dotted along it, each one prettier than the one before. A wonderful place for a peaceful holiday."
