"Pros +++ Nice, large and quiet garden and terrain around the house. +++ Typical French very cozy cottage and decor. +++ Daily many squirrels in the garden and in the distance cows, which the kids really liked. +++ A very good trampoline in the garden. +++ In the attic Next to 2 smaller bedrooms a huge room, where we were able to sleep with a whole family of 5 with all of them very relaxed. Really spacious, delicious! Negatives --- There were fleas or bedbugs in one of the bedrooms, there did not sleep, really scandalous! --- The stairs are REALLY very dangerous! N.a. Other reviews I still thought "that's true" but no, that's really not the case! The smallest difference between steps is not yet 15 cm, the biggest difference is more than 40 cm and the distances change completely randomly. Particularly, there is also no trailing and low light, it really makes a dangerous staircase .--- With all low unprotected power sockets, a completely non-functioning and slow staircase "fence", this is NOT child-friendly for small Children .--- All play equipment in the garden (on 1 very good trampoline after) completely broken of rust, absolutely not usable !! And the "sandbox" was no longer there (we did not miss it, but it was called as if it were, and that's not the way) .- The locks of the outside doors worked very hard .--- On the first floor the toilet door barely did not work .--- A little bit of detail above the dining table hangs the impossible "imaginable" lamp, which you gossip every time when you get up. Furthermore, there was no teapot, so take it yourself. It was not cleaned well in the house. Conclusion Despite some significant downsides, I would like to go again (as the fleas are gone) in terms of atmosphere! I really liked it as a very cozy cottage and wonderfully peaceful environment."

"I was under the impression that the house was surrounded by its own grounds and was disappointed that all the garden was to the front and that there were houses close by and a road to the rear; the lake was a duck pond and the grounds were very unkempt; the lack of sun loungers was disappointing. I think the description of the grounds should be much more honest. Although the house is characterful it is very run down and most of the furniture is uncomfortable and past its best, although the bed my husband and I slept in was fine some of the other beds were well below par. The most comfortable furniture is in the upstairs lounge, whereas it would be better downstairs as that’s where we spent most of our time in the house, and wouldn’t have used the upstairs room had it not been for the World Cup on tv. The decor, once one gets past the initial impactfulness, is not very welcoming and many of the artefacts are ugly - far too much emphasis on army paraphernalia - giving the house a hostile, museum-like feel (especially the modern army photos in the downstairs w.c. - very much out of place, I thought, in a holiday rental. However, all this was reflected in the cost and so it seems wrong to complain, but after a week I was pleased to leave as I found the house oppressive and shabby and none too clean. The toilet in one of the en-suites had a towel rolled up behind it to, we think, prevent leaks - unhygienic we thought. The showers were poor, too."

"We were 6 adults and a small child in the Christmas week 2008 in this house. It is very atmospheric and the photo "s on the Internet are representative. A lovely house to sit to rest and relax. Especially the fireplace is a blessing and create atmosphere. The house is fully equipped. When 8 people would book this house, there is only a shortage of good seats. The sofa and armchairs where you enjoy sitting for 4 persons. The house is quite donker.Aan good lighting (for example, to read) is lacking. The kitchen is well equipped. Everything is full of kitchen equipment and crockery. Small downside: no space for your messages to store. Internet works but not wireless (bring long network cable along). Indeed: not reach the phone (can be tricky but it is also very quiet .. lekkeer) The area itself is beautiful but there is not much to do unless you like walking / cycling. The villages in the area are pretty bleak. The larger towns, such as st Quentin , Valenciennes, Laon and Reims are well worth the effort. We had a great time. starting point was: just do nothing and relax and that worked. recommendation for quietness so! Fam Diepeveen-Perridon, Rotterdam"

"We had a great time relaxing at Rabouillere 1. The house and surroundings make you relax instantly, away from the hustle and bustle. Still big supermarkets and macDonalds are within driving distance. The nearby villages are tiny, friendly and very French, mostly residential (some lovely churches!), whereas the towns have terraces and shops. The house is big and feeling grand, and does have wifi. The garden is a real joy, it feels like you are in a park. Nice big trampolines. We have 2 children, 2 and 3, so safety was important. For the most part the garden is indeed fenced off, though on the other side of Rabouillere 2 there are possibilities for the children to "escape", but in reality that is not a real concern, it is simply too far away for them to go there. The house would be great for up to 3 couples with 2 babies and 4 children, but suited us fine too (2 adults with 2 toddlers). We had a great BBQ, and we took a paddling pool with us, which was a good move, considering the hot weather we had. We had several electrical storms at night, which were fascinating to watch, and it was nice to sit under the roof of the patio and see the rain."

"The house really old French house which is colorful, spacious, decorated netjes.Sfeervol old \/ flea, it looks like a museum. Quiet area, but we were there during school holidays and there is a (small-scale modern) school in the street, so in the low season it can be more lively. The garden is sublime, wild nature with a piece of wood. The owners are friendly and helpful and if you ask them what they have always tips. For gardeners with green thumbs, Ms. is a connoisseur and Mr knows a lot of history. They live in a similar house in the same yard area, but guests garden is separated. So no lack of privacy. The house is best for all ages but not for people who have difficulty walking. The house is divided into living rooms, kitchen, 1st floor and two bedrooms. 1 with double bed, one with two single beds which cozy spacious stand apart. Room in the house fine, but you need to pass a room a ladder with one or a few treedjes off \/ on. Very strange. Only downside is that shower and toilet (spacious and clean) are far from the bedrooms. To refresh you need to get through the house. Kitchen is fully equipped. very"
