"The Grain Store is excellently located for access to the Jurassic Coast. It is set in lovely gardens with a small, though attractive wood, both of which are perfect for the dog. The addition of a secure, fenced garden is also perfect for the dog.We were really delighted with the first impression on arrival, particularly how well stocked and clean everything was. It was great to be able to have a hot bath at the end of a day’s walking, with the choice of having a good shower as well in the morning. The wood fire in the lounge is a great feature and one of the reasons we chose to stay there. We were given a good supply of tinder and wood for our stay. Even though it was not too chilly in the evenings, it made the room warm and cosy. However, the condition of the double mattress in the master bedroom was appalling; we had to sleep in separate rooms as the springs came through so much in the double bed that I could only sleep reasonably comfortable in the middle, so Steve was forced to choose the best from the other beds, which also was not easy.We chose to stay at The Grain Store because of the location as well as the well-equipped games room, as advertised online, for evenings and rainy days. Sadly the pool table has been removed (damaged following inappropriate use by residents), the dart board could not be used (table tennis table in the way and no darts available, not supplied as it had previously been misused by residents), the table tennis table did not have sufficient space around it to be used (the room is now also used as a shop), and the football table is on its last legs. The information brochure is out of date with mis-information about local shops and amenities. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. We hope that our feedback will help them make some improvements, particularly with the mattresses (getting good quality replacements) as we would like to stay there again (with the caveat of comfortable beds)."

"The photo above is not of 268 Gurnard Pines - probably another property on the site. Gurnard Pines is described as a Holiday village but many of the properties on site are residential and some are needing some care and attention. We were advised that there was parking for 2 cars immediately outside the property. There was space for 2 cars but not solely for the use of the occupants so the space was not always available. Whilst the property was very clean and most things were in very good condition the only seating in the lounge area was 2 sofa beds - not always easy to get up from. There was only one small wardrobe in the main bedroom - nowhere to hang clothes in the other two bedrooms - which just had a chest of drawers. We were fortunate to have good weather which was good as there was nowhere in the property to hang coats etc."

"Had a really lovely holiday. The cottage worked really well for us. Only problem with William Crump was that they didn't know what light bulb to fit main light in one of the bedrooms with , so did n't have a main light for the week.We also booked Briar cottage and the cleanliness was not too good. Would rate it as a five for cleanliness. Also the beds were a bit on the narrow side and could feel metal poles under two of the beds.Overall the two cottages worked excellently for us and had a wonderful holiday. Very good for the dogs. Nice o have the enclosed space around the cottages. William Crump was good for my mum's wheelchair, which was a great relief.. My nephews and niece loved the swimming pool and awas a great asset"

"A great located bungalow for getting to Keswick, out in the hills and Derwent Marina. The decor is very old fashioned and there is a musty smell to the house but once you get over that the lay out and space is great for storing kit etc. Cleanliness was an issue, mold on the walls in the Master bedroom, glasses that needed cleaning before use! With a little updating this could be a fantastic property, we would stay again due to its location and layout but it does need updating. Wi-fi would also be a bonus (but it is clear that the house doesn’t have this when we booked). The ‘Chalet’ Cafe in Portinscale which is in walking distance is fantastic and a great amenitie to have so close by."

"If you want a quiet retreat this could be just what you're looking for. But be warned it's nearly 7 miles from the nearest town Bridport down mostly twisty single track roads. The only local amenities are 2 pubs within a couple of miles but I couldn't recommend them. The shave cross Inn is OK but has a very limitted menu. There is a small shop on site for the essentials you may have forgotten otherwise it's 7 miles to the nearest supermarket. The property is well equiped and very comfortable but there are no wardrobes in the bedrooms, so nowhere to hang your clothes except on hooks. The property could do with some maintenance and a bit of redecorating but it wasn't too bad."
