"We have stayed in many cottages in the country as we go every year . This by far was the worst cottage we have stayed. Only good thing about this cottage was the hot tub and the view from this which was lovely. Apart from this the cottage is in a working farm so expectably it smells constantly of cows and the cottage is always full of flies. We constantly had to keep food and fruits covered due to the amount of flies in the house. We actually felt like we were in a barn.No one can sleep downstairs fur tontoncreaky floor board upstaires. It’s is very very noisy and would wake you up even if they just get out of bed to go to the toilet.Downstairs toilet gets flooded if one would have a shower as there are no shower curtains. All pots and pans are so old nothing can be cooked as the food gets stuck to it. There was only one frying pan which was blackened and old. All the plates and cups were chipped and need replacing. We wanted to have a BBQ as the weather was really nice, however this was so dirty and not cleaned from previous occupants, that we never used it. Owners dogs were very friendly but they were constantly around the cottage and there is dog poo everywhere. I love dogs and we had one of our own, however the owners dogs were all over even inside the cottage if the door is left open even for a short time.the cottage was done very cheaply. To get to the hot tub one have to go outside and go to the back garden so it was inconvenient to carry food even if you want to eat out specially on a nice sunny day. As a result having spent such beautiful days in the cottage we couldn’t sit out and eat. The table and chairs out side were full of bird droppings and not able to sit on anyway. We never spent time in the cottage all day as it was pretty disgusting. The windows all open to the main farm house and the rest of the barn area which was very cluttered and unkept. We have stayed in many farm houses/ cottages/ barn conversions, however none were so bad I am sad to say. The money spent was such a waste."

"Lovely views , and nice walks around Kingswear <br />Modern apartment with large balcony and lovely views across to Dartmouth , the main bedroom has a large comfortable bed with plenty of storage, I had to use a sleeping mask as far too much light coming through from early morning, due to the gaps around the curtains . The second bedroom is nicely furnished , however 2 small single beds and a grim view of a wall, damp at the back is apparent , the kitchen is well supplied and secure parking was a plus an easy walk down hill to the ferry Across to Dartmouth ,although a gentle climb back up the hill . We felt the apartment was value for money , but attention to cleaning needs to be done, we found the back of the sink in the on suite very grubby and quite off putting, along with the remains of a very used piece of a soap bar left out was definitely no star. On a plus the welcoming gifts was a delight , I would return to this apartment and recommend once they get the central heating fixed we did report this during our stay, and moving an electric heater from one room to another was uncomfortable . I found Blue River cottages very helpful and a delight to deal with ."

"Whoever is running this cottage clearly cares about about their customers. The location is perfect with a large balcony that looks out over the beach. The property is surprisingly spacious with three good sized bedrooms, large lounge/diner and a breakfast/PlayStation room. All my family were really impressed with the size and attractiveness of the space. What really impressed me though were the little details. There was some tea/coffee and milk already there, loo paper, a docking station DAB radio, TVs in each room, outside shower to rinse wetsuits, rack for surf boards. That's just what I can remember. It really felt like rather than try to maximise their profit, the owners had tried to anticipate what would make a stay more convenient and enjoyable and paid the little extra provide it. We had a great time. I wish more short-term rentals were this good. "

"Absolutely amazing property and Gilly was so welcoming too. Set in a beautiful location, St Michael and All Angels is a lovely place in which to stay, relax and visit many interesting towns, villages and coastline. The countryside is right on your doorstep providing for many forest walks. Dartmoor and Exmoor are both within easy reach too. The property itself is outstanding and is a truly wonderful place to unwind and pamper yourself. It is both luxurious and comfortable and is a real 'home from home'. The garden is beautifully maintained and has seating areas all around. I would love to return there again and would happily recommend it to anyone seeking luxury and tranquility. I would also like to make a special mention on the perfect welcome hamper - thank you so much!"

"The cottage is clean, spacious, homely and has everything you need. It really is a home from home. The owners are welcoming and helpful. The views are fantastic. We have mobile data with 3 and had adequate internet access from inside. The road leading to the cottage is a bumpy country lane but it didn't cause our small Suzuki any problems (other than dust) and we were out and about every day (the location is great.) The cottage has its own washing machine and freezer, and also iron/board and hairdryer, all of which we were thankful for. The kingsize bed is super comfy and the ensuite is modern and clean. There is ample storage for a family and we agreed this is the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in. We would definitely return!"
