"Overpriced, needs overall, few things broken or not working, we reported to reception and some things sorted but bathroom light didn’t get resolved, stained carpet, tatty kitchen cupboards/draws, leaking kettle which was replaced with a tatty travel version and took an age to boil, front door had issues too!Out doors had court yard, desperately needed weeding, washing hanger outside but no pegs, ironing board unstable, ironing board cover past its best so slipped off, only 3 dining chairs (supposed to be 4), pottery set had silly sized small bowls, blinds didn’t fit, frayed and you couldn’t reach the pulley without standing on a chair, no instruction for appliances accept cooker, double glazing blown, no welcome book for the cottage. On a positive note, bedding clean/crisp, welcome pack with basic groceries was a nice touch. The touch left for guests didn’t work but a replacement was provided by the gentleman on reception which we appreciated as we had dogs with us.However very disappointing, on the wall there was an old 13/14 Visit England tourist board certificate, we feel it’s a long time since the Farrier Cottage has been 4*"

"We were disappointed that the sauna wasn't working as this was a key factor in our choosing this holiday destination. Although the barn was quite nice a few attention to details would have made this far better. There were a few cobwebs around the place and one small tablet of soap in each en-suite which was not adequate, light bulbs out in the kitchen and no lighting at the dining area and the position of the TV was ridiculous. We had to re-arrange the settees so that all members could actually view it. The bed frame in the larger bedroom was unstable due to assembly pieces being missing. There were only 6 coat hangers in the main bedroom and the smaller bedroom did not even have any wardrobe or hangers, needless to say we had to buy some from the local supermarket. This is definately unacceptable. The information pack did not detail where any of the facilities actually were, a map of the complex would be a asset. The maintenance manager was not available to inform him of any of these complaints. Needless to say we will not be re-booking this place again."

"The owners are very kind and helpful people. They live next door and can easily be reached if necessary. The location is excellent because you can both walk to Glendurgan Garden and Trebah Gardens, which are both worth visiting. You can also walk to the beach in about 20 minutes and Mawnan Smith and Helford Passage (where you can go to pubs and find a shop) are both in walking distance, too. There are plenty of footpaths, but at first they are a bit difficult to find. The cottage has just been renovated 3 years ago and really good materials were used. The kitchen contains everything one can possibly wish for in a holiday home, the bed is really comfortable and the living room and the winter garden are nicely fitted up. In addition to the TV set there is a DVD player with a nice selection of films available. The only drawback is that the sofas in the living room are very soft."

"The cottage felt and smelt damp downstairs. There was quite a lot of cobwebs throughout the cottage & there was dead flies on some of the carpets. The toaster kept tripping the electrics, the washer leaked water onto the Lino when used, and the fire alarm went off whenever food was made which was quite a nightmare. I think the cottage is quite dated and could really do with updating. I would recommend the washing line is moved to a better location as it is sheltered by the large tree which stopped the sun getting to the clothes to dry most of the day. The owners lived on site and didn’t come to introduce themselves to us. However their lovely cat did come to say hello. This cottage is advertised for 4 people but it is big enough for at least 5 people."

"Luckily there were only 2 of us staying in this cottage for 4 people. There was only one wardrobe between us, and only 6 coathangers to share. It was very clean, and the showers were good. There was no 'welcoming' plate of biscuits, or pot of tea as all the other places we have stayed in.There was no list of important facilities, ie. information about local doctors, hospitals, churches, etc. There was a lack of basic household necessities, ie. cling film, foil, dishcloths.2 light bulbs were blown, and we were told they would not be replaced. The washing machine was not working properly, and according to the apologetic message left inside, it was clear that no attempt had been made to rectify this.Overall. we were very disappointed."
