"Enjoyed our stay after the first weekend was over as the other unit had a hen party and kept us awake until 3am each night. The unit was well equipped but really smelled of stale smoke. The doors would not shut properly and the showers had no pressure. The toilet handle also didn’t work. Most of the beds were uncomfortable to sleep in. On the plus side the kids really enjoyed the pool even though it needs a good paint job. The games room were quite tatty and we had to repair the table tennis bats before we could play. The owner went away for a few days and switched off the wi fit whilst he wasn’t there. The whole of the outside of the building needs cleaning and repairing with weeds growing everywhere. On our last day we decided to stay in and use the BBQ area. When we arrived one of the windows on the games room had blown open and the window and frame had broken. I reported this to the owner who said he would get it sorted. On our departure I was told we would have to pay for the window and he blamed the children for the damage. When we explained the kids were in the pool when that happened he still insisted it was our damage. He refused to give us our £200 deposit back saying he will refund what is left after repairs. This really spoiled the holiday."

"To say it was small is an understatement. The ride on mower in an adjoining barn had more room than we had in the lounge. The stairs were unbelievably steep and being disabled they were difficult to manage and it took great effort to get our suitcase up to bedroom. The dirt between the floorboards was, for us, unacceptable. The toilet, described as an eco toilet, from caravanning experience, was nothing more than an elaborate Elsan. To describe the experience of using this waterless toilet would put people of their breakfast. Not a place for us and we shall not be returning. The description on the holiday "cottage" was not entirely clear of the above points, and had I been more informed of the place, I would not have booked. The positives were the rather pleasant porch, and sitting out on a nice warm evening. Had there been inclement weather however, it would have been another experience, given the lounge area was so small. We departed the property on Sunday morning after just 15 hours. I'm sure this property is enjoyed by some, reading some reviews, but it's not for us for the reasons given I'm sorry to say."

"S18096 is really lovely in beautiful surroundings. Everything you would wish to have is in S18096 and all of good quality. We always strive to select a cottage that has a minimum of a king size bed, this didn't let us down, it was enormous, larger than king size and was was extremely comfortable. The bath was nice and long allowing us to have a really good relaxing soak. Our welcome from the host Helen was warm and inviting with the offer of fresh veg from her well stocked walled garden and 6 fresh eggs from her chickens awaited us in the kitchen. There is good sized range type electric cooker in the kitchen and all other appliance that you would expect to find in a cottage of this quality. The grounds around the house were beautiful, almost like being in a park and were invited to wander throughout at our leisure. The wildlife was entertaining, we heard an owl regularly but were not luck enough to spot it.We would highly recommend this cottage and are definitely going to book again."

"The accommodation has obviously been furnished by a man. There are several things missing that a woman would have thought of: A bread bin; a bread board; a bread knife; more than 6 knives in the drawer; a tea pot; bath mats; a few spare blankets; and a few cushions and pictures would make it look more homely. The only other problem we had was we were unable to get the main oven to work and there we couldn't find any instructions. Other instructions, such as what to do with the rubbish, were also missing. Also needs a new washing line. Otherwise the accommodation is very comfortable, all the important requirements were well catered for and the situation of the propery is brilliant. We would certainly stay there again. "

"Gill gave us a warm welcome. The welcome pack of food was very handy and having previously been advised to order a delivery the rest of our needs arrived about an hour after we did. Gill had even offered to put the food away if it arrived in the morning. Staying at Farthings was just what we all needed. It was spacious, plenty of room for the five of us and the dog who had an enclosed garden to run about with. Everyone enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Walks around the area are so beautiful and we had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Anchor Inn at Nayland. It's a 30 minute drive to the sea. Flatford Mill is only a short drive or a decent walk away. A really good place to explore the area from."
