"The owners have paid a lot of attention to detail in presenting this cottage to a very high standard. However, for my wife and I, in our 70's, it was the smaller details which spoilt our stay with our 9 year old dog.On entering the living room area it was lovely to see fresh flowers. When sitting down to watch TV there was a table between the chair and the TV. On the table was a vase of flowers, lovely, but I cannot see the TV as the flowers are in the way. I need to move them, where, to the large coffe table which takes up a lot of floor space. I am wonky on my legs, be very careful or you might have a breakage to pay for!The car parking space is some way from the cottage door and with a full car of luggage for a four night stay it would be considerate of the owners to move their cars which block an easier route just for 5 minutes for unloading and loading. Especially important for someone with a disability. There was not an enclosed garden as stated in the spec for this cottage but applied to the other cottage on site. An iron table and chairs are provided but we had to sit holding our dog on his lead in a very small space trying to stop the table wobbling as well while we drank a morning coffee. The traffic noise from the nearby A12 was very intrusive to spending a quiet peaceful time in the garden. The bed was very very comfortable and we slept very well. However, at 6am loud local traffic noise from the road outside starts and continues until around 8.30am. The bedroom has one window. This opens 4 metres away from the backdoor of the owners cottage. Any coming and going by the owners or visitors was very close to us in the bedroom and we could hear every word spoken. The road outside the cottage does not have any pavements so in our opinion it was not safe to walk with a dog let alone without one. During our stay I did not see anybody walking in the road but visitors to this cottage will be wanting to walk their dogs and will need to use their car.We had booked for four nights but left after three feeling very disappointed."

"Very good quiet sea view location 20 min walk from busy Clacton or a 5 min drive on the very edge of Holland on Sea. Lots of shops in area. Great beaches to visit nearby. The bungalow was refurbed this summer (2016) so bedding/towels and appliances were new on our stay. Furniture painted to keep the white fresh look. Wardrobes and dresser vintage. Bed seemed new and comfy. Its lovely quiet area, 2 of us stayed, with our dog, who loved it. Enclosed garden for dog or kids. Plenty new seating/table for outdoor eating. Great walks to enjoy along the sea front and prom. Staff left supplies in kitchen. Very kind. Quick and helpful email replies. Cute sun lounge at the front which is great for 2 to sit in the eve, looking across the sea. (We are couple with dog). Comfy place with all you need, good size lounge for 6 to sit and relax. Kitchen has stacks. Large cooker if you need it. Large new tv on lounge wall with suitable connection at the back if you did want to plug in your xbox or laptop and watch SKY Go or Netflix on a rainy day! We had rain only once during 2 weeks. Weather amazing. Great WIFI provided. If you have to do some work on hols. Our phone signal with EE was good. Recommend S69641 for a relaxed visit & sea view."

"We loved every minute of our stay here! The owners who live next door were very welcoming, helpful but unobtrusive. In the huge fridge they had left us the cutest kilner bottle of milk which was a thoughtful touch and on the dining table a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and a Chocolate Easter bunny which was another welcome surprise that we enjoyed! The cottage is cosy and charmingly decorated and very well equipped, we even got to make use of the barbecue on the back patio. It really felt like a 'home from home'. What was great for us was that our dog was welcome too and got his very own complimentary doggy treat and dog food water bowls were also provided. There is a big orchard at the back of the cottage which we could walk the dog in and also lots of public footpaths nearby. The cottage was easy to find and there is a community shop nearby in Langham. Langham is also home to a fabulous pub called The Shepherd which we went to often. The staff there are really friendly and the recently renovated interior is stylish and modern whilst still being cosy. They served great food and also allows dogs in the bar area which was also just perfect for us. We hope to be able to go back very soon."

"Really impressed with all the little things that were supplied, like the welcome hamper, dishwasher tabs, hand wash, even a towel and poo bags for our dog . It was like staying in a home from home. There were lovely walks to take the dog and a big field to let him run off the lead. The facilities (pool, bar-b-que and games rooms) were great and the photos on the website do not do it justice. The pool room is particularly good and we made the most of it over our weekend. The village is really pretty and I'd recommend the Bell Inn for a meal, which welcomes dogs. The Castle is a short walk, but we went via the footpaths through the lovely woods and fields. It would have been great to go on the steam trains, but we had a wedding to attend, 10 minutes down the road at Gosfield House, so ran out of time."

"We stayed as a family of four , with grandparents popping in for a few days as a surprise visit . We found the property to be clean and welcoming . It has obviously recently been modernised and has all you need for a holiday . The positioning of the property is approx 25 minutes walk to Clacton , the pier amusements the shopping centre the train station and all amenities . We walked there everyday ! Perfect ! The beautiful beach can be viewed from the living room and is a 5 minute walk to get down there . Very peaceful setting . Would we comeback again? Definatley we enjoyed our stay , lived the location , the property was perfect fir our needs , only issue was lack of eating table for 6 , was wobbly and not big enough , maybe padded lap trays could be purchased."
