"Lovely week at the cottage, ideal so close to the sea for walks around the bay. We also used it as a base to visit local castles, houses and the Farne Islands. The cottage was very comfortable and had almost everything you needed. A small sharp peeling knife would be a good addition to the kitchen. It mentioned putting the rubbish out in the book but there was no information on the kitchen door for this, and as we like to recycle we took our rubbish home, maybe further information on this or a bin for recycling would be handy. It may be an idea to have blinds on the sky lights in the bedroom, as it was quite bright early in the morning. We were unfortunate to have the gas board digging up the path outside the property for half of the week, which resulted in us being woken up early and there was no where to park outside the property when this was happening, therefore we had to park in the small car park at the end of the road. Overall we really enjoyed our stay there and had a good week."

"The 'house' was not at all suitable for a dog as the living room was upstairs and dogs were not allowed upstairs. The downstairs bedroom had no windows so was dark and airless. The upstairs bedroom was too light. The blinds on the window were useless and there was a street lamp outside. The velux windows had blinds on them but it was impossible to reach them so they were uncovered all the time. There was no dishwasher which is fair enough but there was no draining board to put the washed items. With a wet dog and child, it would have been a good idea to come and go through the utility room but then the dog (and the rest of us) would have had to go through the downstairs bedroom (which was not allowed).I would not describe the house as 'end of terrace'. It was more like a garage conversion! It looked very modern and attractive inside but was really not very user friendly."

"This flat was excellent. Spotlessly clean and well situated within a short walk to a dog friendly part of the beach. The parking even fitted in our estate car!I hope the owners reconsider having two dogs now as our two had loads of room and were no trouble at all. A walk through stairgate fitted across the hall would prevent dogs going into the bedroom area. We used a suitcase too mark the boundary because the bedroom has no door.I don't think the flat is suitable for small children because of the open access to the road. Perhaps a roll of netting to pull across the entrance to the parking would help secure the space for dogs or child, to give enough time to catch them if they escape the porch. An excellent holiday with lots of dog friendly places to visit, especially Druridge country park."

"Sadly, this cottage was a disappointment to us. It was very clean and reasonably well equipped, but we found it to be quite claustrophobic, as the main source of light came from velux windows upstairs, meaning that there is no outlook whatsoever. The property does not have any outside space to help relieve this. As the velux windows had neither poles to open them nor window blinds, it was difficult to air the cottage when the sun had been shining through the windows during the day and the otherwise welcome sunshine woke us up early in the morning. One of the two bedrooms has no windows / ventilation at all! It was also unfortunate that during our stay, the adjoining neighbour appeared to be carrying out renovation work to his property involving power tools !"

"The ground floor flat on first impression wasn’t too bad, but I think the cleanliness wasn’t really up to scratch. The flat had patches of mould around some windows doors and the bathroom really could do with a deep clean, rusty patches on the radiators and again mould patches. The the owners have removed all the internal doors making the area open plan which is good in theory but I would of preferred a door on the bedroom to limit the sound coming from the kitchen/living area and to maintain privacy. But Overall the flat was well equipped and comfortable. Wished we had done a bit of research beforehand though, as Newbiggin was a little run down and was a distance away from the places of interest that we wanted to visit."
